Ohhh I like being reminded of focus. To go a inch wide and a mile deep. It reminds me of a quote I had to look up and wanted to share, “To know ten thousand things, know one thing well” - Miyamoto Musashi
Just re-listened and took notes on this interview! What a gem! -Don't go an inch deep and a mile wide. -If your work is being commoditized and you feel stuck in a race to the bottom, discover and leverage something unique that is meaningful to the client and to you. -Write down a list of your heroes and list their characteristics. These characteristics are waiting inside you to be brought to life! -Will I regret it more if I do or if I don't? -Look at your eulogy and estimate the # of books you have left to read, then choose wisely.
Aligning your work with your purpose is a rare privilege not everyone gets to enjoy.

Michael Ventura! One of my most admired clients. Loved working with him! He’s a kind of business spiritual guide.
Top-notch communicators
A lot of the time I hear the depth and width conversation proposed as depth VS width and that you can either go wide and have a lot of influence. I never considered depth & width as collaborative directions. Thanks for sharing, this is helping me unfold direction. 🎉

My dad was a farmer, a simple farmer who has no education whatsoever. I am here to make a difference, I am here to show the world that It does not matter who your family is. The future is in your hand

@@elliotjackson1 its farmer. And I guess I made a mistake, but again I am a son of a farmer not a son of a professor
What's the full name of the person Chris is interviewing? I only see his first name Michael.

All I wanted is to be cured for my depression also being straight. This is all what stops my life going on 😔

I’m sorry about your depression. Seek treatment from a qualified medical professional and also think about having therapy for it. Correct me if I’m wrong but I want to assume your gay from what you said about wanting to be straight. Some of the most gifted and talented and even most cheerful persons on earth are gay. Being gay doesn’t stop you from achieving your full potential and doesn’t stop you from being happy.

I can count myself as one of 'We'. I often find myself stuck in my own thoughts and failing to communicate.
46:18 That's such a morbid, anxiety inducing way to live. I understand not wanting to waste time meandering. However, making your life an efficiency problem to solve is just toxic. Also, purpose/meaning are unhelpfully loaded words for telling people to do what they enjoy. Imagine if what you love to do is not meaningful to you. Imagine if what you like is throwing darts or something dead-end-simple like that. You don't wanna cave to the purpose /meaning cultural black hole and go about with religious seriousness about this thing that is actually not very important at all. Some of us don't wanna be delusional about what we enjoy. I've been an artist my whole life and while i do have many reasons to be prophetic about the importance of art, what's important is that it's important to me on a physiological level. And everything beyond that is an excess of reasons. I'd biased towards inflating it's importance.
Frankly this is offensive to tuba players. The idea that no one plays tuba is just crazy. We’ve all played a tuba of course.
A wild path? Haha he has a normal everyday career
