Thanks for watching! New to stargazing? Download my FREE Stargazing Starter Guide: www.learnthesky.com/stargazing_starter_guide
Orion is the most beautiful constellation of all. Stargazing is amazing but it just feels incomplete without Orion ❤️❤️
Great video and perfect timing for me. I am about to take my first telescope out to the night sky for the very first time.
Hello! I found your channel before I went to sleep last night, and I am completely enamored by your videos!!
Star hopping is the way to go when using DOBs or other "armdrive" systems. Participants at star parties find objects easier when using star hopping. Enjoy your videos; keep'em coming.

A star atlas is a must for star jumping.
Thanks, Jeanine. I can see it. Happy holidays!
your voice is so relaxing to listen to.. i sometimes listen to the videos while studying
Glad to watch your lessons for Stargazing!!
Video with a good explanation. Thank you. In Orion´s belt there is a star called Mintaka wich raises on the sky every day exactly at East point and sets down on the horizon exactly at West. This was a way that ancient sailors used to guide ships in the middle of the Oceans.
Great video. I find you the most helpful channel for learning about the night sky!
Now I’m doing an outdoor activity for people who help them to recognize constallations and your vídeos are a very good inspiration, even knowing well the sky. Nice video.
Nice! I love the summer triangle too.
WOW……..I also just happen to have come across your videos ……..easy to follow , very clear instructions…..I’m a newbie to stargazing also so my next attempt is to go outside and try and locate stars you mentioned…….
HeyHey, I learned myself, thanks for helping me start out. I noticed the asterism myself on the night of nov 10, 2021 in the chicago area sky, and you can see the 1 minute low light s7 cam footage of me asterism-musin' . BannedAstroReport BAR 10th Nov 2021. keep it up
Yupp I saw winter triangle many times It's so awesome
Such a helpful video. Really clear about the winter triangle now after a couple of clear nights. Thank you.
Thank you very very very much for your work and video!!! In a few words, I retain a lot of information directly on the subject. Many many many appreciations for this channel!!!! Thank you!!!
This is very helpful. Thank you.
Another great vídeo, keep up the good work!
Thank you Jeanine for posting these videos i am learning a lot . My favourite constellation is Orien . I have been watching it since i was little both here in Norway where i leave and in my home country Morocco.
My grandchildren get amazed at what they can see with a telescope. The Pleaides really blew them away as it was just a blurry spot in the sky until magnified.
Thanks..you great!
just found your channel love your work!
Hi, jeanine (?). I suppose we should get in fast and learn where it is now, cos when ol' betelgeuse goes we'll only have a few years before we lose one side of the triangle! Since Procyon is Greek ('before the dog'), and translated Greek is funny about the letter 'C', I've always called it PROK YON. Just saying. Love your vids. Learned loads. (Not that it matters much; I live in England. Can't say much about the night sky but, I can tell you loads about clouds... and rain... and mist... and bloody clouds. Once-in-a-lifetime comet comes round. Did I see it? Did I f...airycakes!)

@@HiR0SHi.the.D0G Hi.First, I'm no expert. I just read a lot 🙂Second: No. The greek word for dog is Skylos (Skeeloss). Pocyon (prokyon) translates wroughly as before the dog. You know what translations are like. Where Greek and Latin is concerned, many of the words we use have been 'Anglicised', that is, made to fit in with normal English pronunciation. Most, if not all, the letter 'Cs' are hard in Greek (K's). In Latin there is no soft 'G' (as in gin). Hope this all makes sense and remember, I'm no expert. 🙂
I've been seeing this without recognizing it. I've been trying to see Monocerus but haven't been able to make it out. I have no trouble finding Orion, Taurus, Gemini tho.
Thankyou xo 💞
Orion constellation is my fav one😇
Saw it this morning even with our city light polution.

Yes, this is something that can easily be seen even in areas with lots of light pollution.
I just found this asterism in Philippines

I have thought about this, but there are so many other good channels out there that have done this. There are 110 Messier objects...it might take me a while to do it! 🙃😀
Would have been useful to have a quick view of the Winter Triangle as seen from the Southern Hemisphere.

Learning tons of info 😙👍... funny that I'm labeled as flat earthier. Only slightly different views of cosmos
Since I'm a newbie at this, you are in the northern hemisphere but what direction do you look to find this, north, south, east or west ? It would be easier to understand if you say which direction you look at, thank you for great info.
I know the two stars near altair. Tarazed and alshain
Hey Janine!Did you got a chance to see the Comet Leonard and the Geminid meteor shower..btw thanks for bringing these informative videos..Love from India

I can see Bootes in the morning around 4-5am. It is definitely possible, but depends on where you live like mentioned in earlier comments
I wish i knew you when i was six. Are you near cincinnati? I need a private instructor I've wasted too much time.
Hi I’m from Australia and searching for answers. No trolling comments thanks. I still cant understand how we see the same night sky if we are traveling thru space? Is it simple because they are so far away? And why is it that the stars are tracked as rotating east to west around the celestial north. I’m starting to think we do live under a dome like the Bible tells us and our pretty celestial ceiling spins around us. Just like the Astronomical Planisphere shows
Orion is the easiest thing to see this time of the year.
And then you pronounce it Beetlejuice here, Goodbye
It’s quite obvious how to find it smh
