if you learn how to read the ingredients on the bags and understand what everything is that's actually in the bag then you'll be fine. Alot of the stuff on the front from what I learned is just all marketing and a lot of times their tricking you. Learn to read the ingredients and what's in the food.

You didn't review the ingredients on a premium brand, for comparison.

Thank you soo much for this video! I have been doing lots of research since I got my Saint Bernard, having the lack of knowledge I ask the worker the best dog food for a large breed puppy. I was then Introduced to simply nourish which didn’t work to goo with my puppy since he wouldn’t eat it. After we slowing switch him to Autbority pet smart brand because I was told by the worker there that it was really good and vet recommended. My dog seems to be really itching and always having stomach problems and it seems like the current food isn’t doing it for him after being on it for 3 months. I started doing research and found out that a lot of the dog food brands contain a lot of filler ingredients n have false claim advertising. Learning from my mistakes I decided to do my own research and after two weeks of reading and looking from different sources I came across solid gold large puppy food. It’s much more expensive then what I used buy my puppy but I want to give my puppy the best. Since I am going to be investing money into my dogs food I would like to know if solid gold food is the right brand to feed my dog I haven’t started him on the solid gold since I’m still skeptical about it but if you can you please lmk of your thoughts on solid gold or any recommendations for my puppy. Thank !

What do you suggest? I literally can't find kibble without poultry or peas My dog gets outbreaks on paws from any poultry but esp chicken and turkey then duck So no peas or legumes, no poultry options??! Help

Why would you avoid corn assuming it's balanced out by a more complex carbohydrate? Corn in not inherently bad for dogs?

Yes corn is bad for dogs. It is high glycemic which creates sugar spikes (hyperactivity) and then the dog crashes. It also is not easily processed. They are carnivores not cows. Their digestive system is not meant to break down corn.

What about wellnes complete health? The topic of selecting a good quality food is quickly turning overwhelming and frustrating. This all just turns into a toss up of take one type of bad things or another type bad of things.... one brand says "x is healthy" the next says "x is bad" I feel like I need to go take a college class just to feed my buddy correctly

@@erinjoy5625 I spelt two of them wrong 😅 good brands but maybe nutrience sub zero is the best, they're up and coming and have freeze dried raw food in the bag ($87 for 22lbs CAD)

Royal Canin is one of the most expensive brands.

in an other video a viterian women said dog food for adult have to be 1% calcium or less and .8% phosphore in all high end and middle food they are all more then 1%calcium and .8% ita usuly 1.5 to 1.7 way to hi the only food with those figure 1%calcium are crap food royal canin hills purina one forza10 so what to feed my dog now i dont want to buy crap food and i dont want him to get sick when older because of hi calcium.very confusing all those food as no one is good at the end of the day

You should join the Facebook group. You have other options. Read the ingredients of that food. It’s bad.

I feed Only Natural Pet, hopefully it's good. I get it 50% off at petsmart lol

Here is all you need to know, avoid wheat,yeast, white rice, soy, corn, pea flour, pea starch, pea protein , potato flour, potato starch . potato protein all take the place of the protein ratio from real meat. avoid meals, tomato pomace, and natural flavor , brewers yeast , anything after salt which shouldnt even be in there, is so miniscule . Mars Candy , Hershey Candy, and Palmolive colgate produce 90% of all dog food . They are going to add ingredients that make a profit. New Vets come out of school brainwashed by dog food companies that sponsor the school and have contracts thats why they always push Royal Canin, Purina , and Science Diet all garbage. What do I give , I dont I home cook , do your research, its very easy. Some of the home delivery food services are not bad , but why pay the service fee cheaper to make your self. If you want to help your pup add a good fish oil , coconut oil unrefined, a good probiotic( more then 13 strains and in the billions of flora). Give sardines or oysters in water 2x week. some fresh veggies, eggs if not allergic , Good Luck once you know whats bad you wont be able to feed kibble to your dog, sorry

You can, if you use a complete and balanced recipe (which I have in my group for free) or you can choose from a long list of reviewed and approved foods (list in my group)

Actually, the only useful info I got from this video is that the higher priced foods are generally better. Duh.
