How to find the Aron Ralston rock | Location of 127 hours in Bluejohn Canyon
On my recent trip to Utah I decided to find the location of the Aron Ralston rock. Naturally, I turned to the internet and KZread for help, but was unable to find any actual instructions on how to reach the place. Here is my advice on how to find the rock that pinned Aron to the slot canyon wall.
1) google maps "Aron Ralston Boulder" and save the location of the rock. This will be the accurate location of the rock.
2) park at "little bluejohn trailhead" and follow the main floor of the canyon all the way to the slot canyon where the rock is.
3) Keep looking at the location of yourself on your phone map just to make sure you don't take a turn back up Bluejohn somewhere.
Special thanks to Shep for letting me use his music in this video. Be sure to check him out on KZread at Shepard Merritt.
Hope this video helped. Thanks for watching and God bless!

Did this trek myself way back in 2011 or so. I used Aron's book and online maps to plan my route. Seems like I accessed from farther up the canyon than you did and there were definitely some tricky parts to navigate. Found Aron's rock and the spot kind of creeped me out with how remote it was and just knowing what happened there. I went to complete the canyon portion to the dropoff but that section of the canyon was completely dark and quite a bit of standing water. Called it a day and headed back out of the canyon at that point to make sure I got back to the car before it got dark. To this day one of the more memorable adventures I've undertaken.

Thank you for helpful tips. Does any part of the trail you went on as showed thru the west fork to Arson's point require steep risky rocks ascending or descending and does it require walking straddle on rocks high above the ground ( i noticed you did that in your video) or is it possible to squeeze thru crevices just walking on the ground ?

So that huge boulder that your left hand is on at 4:18...and the other three @ 4:32...where did those come from, or to put it differently what's responsible for moving those to their final resting place, they would weigh at least hundreds of pounds each.
