I tried this method. With a theodolite. It did not work for me. But when i took the H1 angle and subtracted it by 90degrees it worked. Idk. Is there a reason why. Please let me know thank you. Please keep releasing good content.

Your work presentation is excellent. Could you please do one video how to design temporary work to support trench/excavation if the depth of the trench/excavation exceed the safety depth and how to decide or determine the width of the trench/excavation based on calcs. Thank you!

I like your videos very much . In fact I learn too much from your videos . Shadow method can also be used to measure the height if a person don't have these tools. I have made a video on that method .You can see it on my KZread channel ( but I made the video on Mobile camera .so video result is not very good)

The distance from the tree to the instrument should be 100 meters each time ?

In your video explained the example is flat, how about, if the instrument is highest or more lower than tree, position is not flat?? How we calculated the H2??

Thats good question. Dear remember the line of collimation of instrument is taken as horizontal . So when you sight the tree leave a mark on the point where the line of sight hits the tree, then measure h1 and h2 as explained in video. Another point as you mentioned that instrument can be below or above, to answer this question there can be possibilities of taking the depress angle which the instrument is making with the bottom of tree so you can make another right triangle below the above one, then solve for the perpendicular and add both triangles perpendiculars to get total height. Another solution is not to set instrument in abstraction.❤️ Hope you understand and hope I could explain more but its hard to explain in comment .
