You couldn't have said it better!!! Honestly! 20 years in IT and only just now using GMAIL because of a job change, makes you regret it you have ever changed jobs. So, there's not a Folder for Archived mail!!! Brilliant!!!! Who are these morons that designed this SHIT and call it simple and user friendly?????

Yours is the ONLY tutorial or article on the subject that mentioned how to recognize archived mail within the ALL MAIL box: by the little symbol. NOBODY else had the brains to mention that. I LOVE you!!!

I still can't find the archives email

Gmail is terrible for this because if you ONLY want to see archived mail, you have to do a search filter to remove everything from your inbox or other categories. What I've learned is to just not archive email, and instead I created a new label called "Done" and I sent my mail there. This way if I ever need to check what I recently archived, I can easily have it at a separate label. I'm thinking of making a tiny chrome extension that will just replace the archive button with a button that automatically sends mail to the done label.

I can move the archieve email back to Inbox now. Thank you.

So many people having same problem and cant find archived emails that are archived accidently. Poor user experience! they should not make archive as default when moving email left on mobile apps!

I don't even know why they have Archived. I put an important email in Archived by accident and couldn't find it.

And still 4 years later no progress. There needs to be a separate tab to view archive male by itself with out the rest of the other mail mixed up. or at least it should be filtered in all mail. The way it's done now in All mail. This is a dumb way to know what you archived or not. same old bullshit.

No ability in you to find what?? Use the "All Mail" tab. If the email DOES NOT have "Inbox" to the left of the email title, it's an archived email. If it DOES have "Inbox" to the left of the email title it's not an archived email. Stop being weird and level up your English skills!
