How To Find A Job Fast (In A Week or Less)

If you are currently unemployed and looking for a job then you will want to watch this video! In it I discuss 3 job search tips that will help you to find a job quick, and by quick I mean in a week or less.
I have used all three of these tips to find jobs quickly and easily on a number of different occasions. So I'm not just talking to hear myself talk people. These tips work. And here they are:
1. Temp Agencies - The #1 resource for finding jobs in your area. Especially in these economic times when more employers are hiring temporary and part time employees.
2. Be Proactive: Go to the Jobs - Stop sitting at home putting in applications. Get out there and find the work!
3. Use Your Social Media Network - How many friends do you have on Facebook? Twitter? Instagram? I guarantee that some of them know about some potential jobs. Ask them.
Ever considered working from home? Here's a website I use to make and extra $100-$200 a month just writing articles: hubpages.com/_...

I've been working with temp agencies since 1998. I've had a few permanent jobs but got laid off. I would call my temp agencies to let them know I' available. I tell anybody that is in-between jobs to register with temp agencies while looking for another permanent job. The possibilities are endless! It can be challenging, but it can also be very helpful. It gives you experience, keeps your resume active, you can build your "professional reference list", etc. I also volunteer at a local public broadcasting station in my city. I work on their membership campaigns and various office work. I also volunteer at one of the theatres, being an usher, preparing brochures about plays. I also get to see the show for free. There is plenty of opportunities to meet and network with people doing volunteer work.

I've called the temporary employment agency and their requirements is to go to their office, bring resume, and social security card to verify that someone is authorized to work in the US. Given that, is it safe to bring your social security card with you even though you haven't been hired yet and this will be my first time going there?

I go through the same thing, and I have good references, decent experience, college education. Still, I get those emails. These jobs have a lot of applicants. And I noticed that A LOT of prospective employers ask on the application, "Do you speak Spanish?". I took spanish in college for a year, but no, I do not speak spanish, and I think that is part of the reason why some people are being rejected. Plus there are just so many applicants in general, I see that on Indeed.

As someone who's struggling to get her GED. A lot of jobs wants to know if you've been to high school, unfortunately, they don't take homeschooling as a "name of school" you're ether have to be from a public or private school, charter, school, etc. They dont hire people who put "home" in their application. It sucks because i can't take living with my parents anymore! I'm tired of being called dysfunctional because I can't made my own money. Might as well live in an home were they take care of dysfunctional adults who don't know how to feed themselves

Not gonna stop looking but the motivation really goes down

as a 21 year old who has came a long way and got my own things, own money. my best advice, be persistent, even if that means be annoying. apply for a job online, call them the next day, ask hey has anyone overlooked my application, if you dont hear anything back, next day, show up and say hey " I applied and been calling wondering if anybody has read over my application" this shows dedication. this shows you actually want to work. this shows maturity. persistence is key. if you get a interview and dont get the job, hell, apply again maybe in the near future. BE PERSISTENT!

I thought when I was younger just getting any job is easy. I thought maybe once you get to the corporate world it would be harder but no they're all the same. My family was homeless for about a year and I was working at a thrift store job that a job agency got me. COVID-19 spiked and I got furloughed. Ended up moving to a town with cheaper rent. I sold my car and helped my mom out with the down payment for an apartment. I’m 18. With my lack of job experience the only jobs I’m eligible for are entry level positions. I’ve been using indeed to apply and their platform gives stats on the jobs you’ve applied for. The numbers have been crazy. 300+ for Denny’s, 400+ for Bath and Body Works, and 1,000+ applicants for am/pm. The job agencies closed their youth program temporarily but opened recently so I’m hoping they’ll be able to help me out. The main thing I learned is not too be too hard on myself and to keep moving forward. Things have been wild lately for everyone...

Yep. And being "pro-active" is a crock. I can't tell you how many times I've actually gone to the place I applied to follow up, only to basically have them tell me "we'll get to it when we get to it"--then, never hear from them. Happens a lot, and the interesting thing is, they are usually employers who don't have the luxury of being picky about who they hire either. If there's a place with a high turnover rate, it's usually better to just skip it and keep looking; I've even had hiring managers flake on interviews! Also, trying to be self-employed is a huge complicated(and intimidating) mess when you're trying to do it legitimately; typically about half of your Gross Income is taxed to hell, whereas a W2 job the employer helps pay some of that. Pro Tip: If you're working jobs you're not happy with, never stop looking for something better until you find it; and, it's far easier to get hired when you're currently employed, than unemployed. That's just the way the cards fall, unfortunately. When you're working a crappy job, really take the time to think about what it is you can't tolerate, and start thinking about the types of jobs that don't have those things, then look for those. Start a LinkedIn account, Indeed, CareerBuilder, etc. Treat those accounts as you would your personal social media, such that it has a presentable picture of you, and a paragraph that is well-written, grammatically correct, and makes a good first impression. The tips in this video are good, if you're desperate, but you need a longterm strategy to maintaining employment. Staying at a place with a high turnover rate is an oxymoron; it just isn't likely to happen, don't be naive, think smart, think ahead.

Im only 24 with like 2 jobs under my belt, last one let me go and im too stupid to file unemployment to have any small income. It's stressing my relationship that I don't have a job in nearly half a year. My temp agency had stayed quiet when im constantly emailing them saying im looking for work, oh but they can send push notifications to my phone number but not respond to my emails. My cars transmission slipped so I cant drive around, bad things have happened to me in this city for walking around in it, i do NOT feel safe walking miles looking for work. I feel like an absolute disappointment of a young adult, i have nothing to my name and i just want to disappear whenever anyone asks me what i do with my life because it's literally nothing.. going crazy without landing a job after the interviews.

Yep I had the same experience with a temp agency a.k.a. temp-to-fire. I mean they hooked me up with a nifty, low-stress office job but they let me go after 90 days. After that the temp agency promised me that they were looking for another job for me but I literally never heard from them again. Needless to say I've been anti-temp agency ever since but who knows? There might come a time where I need to utilize one again and hopefully I might have better luck.

I quit and then agency never came through. I was jobless another 2 months and finally got a call from all the applications I put in. My temp agency was Aerotek and they promised me a job for making catheter.

If you're struggling do this: enroll in a nearby technical college and take CNC Machining. You will go for 2-6 months and get a certificate. Longer courses are not much better than short ones. You will be hired before you finish school. The work is interesting, the pay is very good, plus you have "cycle time", that is when the work is going on with the machine, you have free time for yourself. Not much time perhaps, but some. You will be monitoring the machine. I took the course at 39 years old, and retired after 22 years on the job. Enjoyed it. My 8 hour day had about 4 hours cycle time. Working conditions are not bad, but you should be able to stand on concrete floors 8 hours a day. Larger companies offer insurance, etc., plus a retirement (if lucky nowadays).

I hate applying for jobs online because they don't call me back and it's a waste of time when you apply for jobs and they don't call you back. They should just have open interviews so you don't have to wait 2 weeks just for them to call you back. I agree because I have to start all over again the next day.

Good stuff man. Temp agencies and Staffing Agencies are good man you usually get paid weekly. Also call centers have high turnover rate so they are hiring all the time. Even if you just sit in training class that's like 2 monthes paycheck but if you can stick it out for 6 monthes to a year you can get a job at any call center really fast. Car rental places and car washes and dealerships have high turnover rates for porters and detailers. Also a lot of places higher for seasonal like he was saying I know here in town there are a couple wharehouse a that higher people November and December and pay really good.

Sir, I'm a 24 year old, long term unemployed, british burn but full ethnic minority female who has been applying for jobs like mad! I'm beyond suicidal, depressed, ugly, isolated, broke, uspet, angry and life is very difficult. Can someone please tell me how to guarantee a part time, paid temp job in the UK by next Monday? I've tweaked and used so many varieties of my CVs , cover letters , applications. I am a victim of bullying in childhood, adolescence and even worse in adulthood by which I'm still inflicted. There are no perks of unemployment. People stereotype people that are unemployed but there are innocent people like me who genuinely desire and deserve to be offered ideal employment and has the potential to grow. Almost a quarter of my life is already over, providing I live to 100 , and I'm not developed, not living in my house, not thriving, graduated, not driving , not popular, not loved, not respected, not married, not a mother, not a real woman! I am beyond depressed but too pathetic to commti suicide. Life is hard enough as an oppressed person but the unemployment is insult to injury. Don't bullshit saying crap such as 'if you really wanted a job you would have one by now' because you haven't been in my harsh reality where they even don't call you back for volunteering nor work experience. I am a good, pure, kind, innocent, hard working, determined, law abiding, conscientious, proactive, committed British citizen and I , more than anyone I know, I've approached employers in various ways trust me but look where I am today! Thank you in advance.
