    I can really appreciate Tip No. 1. I was using my ZV-E1 and Pocket 3 in one of the Montmartre neighborhoods this past Fall and got my backpack picked while not filming. They got away with my Hero 11, my primary lens for the ZV-E1, and a bag of batteries. I'm much more careful these days.

    *I Think this will always be the #1 thing for people whom want to do KZread & are afraid that people will judge them by looking at them or say something while they are vlogging, but with videos like this they can over come that fear as well as going to places like conventions where people do this a lot so that they can feel comfortable doing it*

    Great tips! I’m going to be getting a pocket three soon… May I ask how you got it to just stay static and not follow you and track you? I like how it stayed centered. Often times when I see filming with the pocket three I can see the gimbal tracking the person which is cool, but I like your choice of static shot for most of these shots. PS: one of the things I love about filming and photographing with smaller cameras is that they are discreet. I’ve been doing a lot of vlogging with my GoPro 12 and it’s perfect for having no one know that you’re filming. I’m sure the pocket three is amazing for this.

    this does get to me in the uk. I think in the holiday areas they are more used to people using Cameras of all sorts but can attract attention when filming in a crowded inland urban area but i am aware that a lot of the apprehension is in my mind as such, not wanting to appear daft LOL. I like this series of videos

    Thanks for sharing. I am an introvert getting into content creation and I struggle big time. I also remind myself that most people around will forget [in a few minutes] that they saw me. I recently got the Ray-Ban Meta glasses and this helps tremendously, because I'm not noticed at all.

    That is one thing is my concern. Filming and then get a camera snatched out of my hand. I guess it's safe to film at tourists sites since most people have their phones and cameras out anyway. Blend in. I need to get the Osmo DJI Pocket 3. I bought the Akaso Brave 7 and I kind of regret buying it. The quality is not that pleasant. If I would have known about the DJI Pocket 3 prior to buy the Akaso, I would have bout the Pocket 3 instead. I thought about the GoPro but...IDK. Great Tips and filming in public. I have to get used to that. Talking to the camera for that matter.

  • @harrygoldhagen2732

    Thanks so much, that was very helpful! I do worry quite a lot about camera security. It's so easy now for someone to snatch and grab a camera, especially such a small one. It's unfortunately becoming a much bigger problem in the US. What other security measures do you take? Name carved onto the camera? Insurance? I also once had a run-in with a loony in public in Montreal who wanted to be part of the shot. He eventually shoved the singer (we were shooting a solo music video) and stuck his face right next to the lens. I didn't want to fight with him, so I yelled "Security!" at the top of my lungs. A very large person who just happened to be walking by stepped in and got the guy to leave. Unfortunately in some places in public it's just very challenging to maintain a safe shooting space.

    When filming at home, I have my go-to spots that I know are safe. But in a new environment, I scope out the area for awhile before pulling my camera out. If there’s even a slight feeling of unease, I won’t film (especially if I’m alone). Other than that, I do insure my gear just in case, and I alsofilm short clips (5 min or less) in public and quickly put my camera in a secure spot when I’m not using it.

  • @Gemini_Connect

    Good question. Wireless / lav mics like the DJI Mic 2 are intended to reduce background noise, so if you want more of that, a directional mic like the Sennheiser is a better option.

    Great video. I am really enjoyed this topic. I also watched your "confidence" video. Could you use a 360 camea instead of say the DJI or GoPro? I have one of those. I'd love to see some videos on how to film yourself with a cell phone in situations like this. .

  • @Gemini_Connect

    @Gemini_Connect

    You could indeed use a 360 camera. For Insta360 products, however, I’ve found that connecting an external mic via the mic adapter seems to degrade audio quality. So you may want to record audio internally to a wireless mic like the DJI Mic 2 and sync it in post production later.

  • @MiaHessMusic

    @@Gemini_Connect I didn't kow that using the mic adapter would mess up the sound. I've got it but I haven't tried that. Have you ever done a video about syncing sound? It seems so hard. I don't use Premiere Pro, final Cut Pro or DaVinci. I use CapCut.
