    Hope you are ok? And what a good boy he is for just standing there with his bridle off on the floor. Money can't buy a temperament like that and no one could have helped what happened. It's just one of those things. Well ridden up to that point. It also looks like a professional fall, have you had lessons on how to roll before because it looks quite smooth. Xx

    Urgh every equestrian falls off, and yes most of the times it's the riders fault but you can't freaking blame her for anything she did. I could go into detail about everyone falls here but that's just crazy. She fell, and i'm glad she is alright. And so is the horse! of course something even worse could have happend but IT DIDNT! so just zip your mouths and be nice.

    One of my worse falls was almost exactly like this. I took a 10 year old OOTB on a 1/4 mile track in my friends back yard and it was his first time back on a track. My friend was up ahead of me and we wanted just a canter she goes off and then my horse takes off full gallop. (I’m thinking his competitive side came in and he wanted to race) boy did I fall hard. It was 110% my fault but reminded me of this. Hope your okay as well!

    Probably, when she'd fallen the pressure moved to behind his ears for a short time, because after that it slipped off over his ears which doesn't hurt too much and he probably saw it coming and if he did he opened his mouth for the bit. It might've scraped over his teeth or behind his ears but horses are tough animals, they can play roughly and not be hurt so don't worry :)

    mistakes happen. i thought you handled the fall perfectly. it’s better to roll off to the side than in front of the horse as it could cause all sorts of minor damage to his face and neck (depending how heavy you are). not sure why everyone’s getting triggered in the comments tho. mistakes happen and it’s about making the situation as good as it can possibly get that’s important and causing no excess damage x

    PLEASE READ THE WHOLE COMMENT! I AM NOT TRYING TO THROW HATE! Are the horses mouth and teeth okay? I was worried since I saw that you were holding the rains while falling and that way took the whole bridle off so i thought you might have yanked at the bit and damaged his mouth and especially teeth. I also saw at the beginning of the video that Kermit was jerking his head so I thought that you might have been pulling on the rains too much which could also damage the horses mouth. Try to use your weight to stop the horse rather than thr bit, sit back in the saddle to stop him, use slight pulling of your hands on the bit so you don't hurt your horse. This is not hate, I am just trying to help. P.S. Kermit is such a good horse for stopping when you fell.

  • @guymofo1971

    @guymofo1971

    PsychoNinaa all good points in normal circumstances. Firstly lets be clear, its not me riding, Angela is riding and does all of those things you mention ie using her seat to control not the reins. Also, racehorses are trained to run into pressure in the bit. Its a different riding style to a normal hacking horse. The way to stop a racehorse is to release the contact so there is no attempt to stop kermit with the reins as this has the opposite effect to what you would expect. Kermit was a very special horse with many insecurities from his racing days. He would pull on his bit quite aggressively just while standing. There are a few other vids on my channel filmed by me that show kermit ‘standing’ waiting to go. Have a look, it may answer some of your concerns

Of you watch the approach to the rails he actually slows, ears forward, goes a little choppy then stops for no other reason than he was a bit of a nutter.

    I’ve done that before except I fell on rocks. It’s not fun at all! I was so mad at my horse because the thing that spooked him was a pole that had been laying in the same spot forever and he had seen it a million times.

    Ellie Grace Mobley haha, kermit, the horse in this vid, would spook at things that were no longer there. We took him on a hack once where we walked past a parked car on a lane which was gone when we came back and we couldn’t get him past the point where it was parked. Quite funny in hind-site but really annoying at the time

    pdjdjdj djd so you knew my horse did you? You think this is the only horse I’ve ever owned? Armchair experts!! You know nothing about this horse and you feel entitled to make that sort of a comment. Good luck going through lie basing decisions with no reliable data to work from.

    Guy Finnegan So it’s ok to blame your horse on a situation you put them in? It’s a horses natural instinct to be spooked, no one should be mad at their horse. It’s not about individual differences as most equestrians use as a pathetic defence so it’s never their fault. Also, I was replying to the first guys comment

    jam on. He was a very troubled horse. He was put through racing with a fused back when very young and it damaged him mentally

    @@guymofo1971 aye no surprise there ... unfortunately not the only sad story when it comes to ex race horses... my daughter and I have rescued 2 ex racers... one never to fully recover from leg injuries and the other just unwanted... best of luck in the future.. 😁😁😁

    Potentially a lot going on around that gallop to distract him passing sheds and coming up to open rails! Jeez your braver than me going that fast and obviously very capable but that type of work is better on the Heath as you’ve plenty of time to see what’s coming! Great to watch though

    I think what happened was you held the reins too short and as the horse has pulled his head forward you have been pulled forward causing you to fall off

    I think you need to watch again and pay special attention to the way his stride changes in the last few seconds and then in the freeze frame slomo at the end note his body position, one leg very forward, nose almost on the ground. he was an ex racehorse, trained to take a steady contact and run into it.

    why the fuck did you try to pull the horse down with you when you fell

  • @guymofo1971

    @guymofo1971

    livii mae seriously? The wird ‘fell’ suggests slipping iff the side and succumbing to gravity. So here is a short physics lesson. You and your horse are doing 30mph. You are loosely attached via your stirrups and reins. Your horse stops in approx 3 strides and drops his head to the floor to aid the stop. You continue at 30mph rotating about the horses mouth because you haven’t had time to let go of the reins because it all happened in less than a second. What do you think you would have done differently? Have you ever tried to pull a horses head down? Their knecks have enough strength to lift you off the ground and fling you a few feet. I do wish armchair experts who don’t watch the film properly and don’t know anything about horses, (I’m referring to you there) would stop posting moronic comments on this video.
