Dear Colleague. You placed the cubic pyrite in a weak aqua regia solution. Pyrite contains iron, sulfur, and possibly gold, in which case the iron compounds change the color of the solution, and stannous solution in combination with iron oxide causes errors. If you remove sulfur by pulverizing pyrite and melting it, remove iron oxide by acid washing, and finally extract gold with Aqua Regia. Good luck. Thank you

I witnessed a con man dupe many people using their ore samples and pregnant solution. I was in his lab once as he was up to his shenanigans and suddenly was visited by a strong metallic taste in my teeth. Exit stage left asap. I distanced myself from his operation as the scam continued but every time I saw him he was turning ashen grey complexion and had 100 year old facial wrinkles. Died in his sleep in Fairbanks Alaska and left quite a mess behind.
