I just extended my VISA in pattaya. What I did was ask my hostel for a form that says I was staying here for immigration. He must have done this before because he said yes i can make the form out for you. He then typed up a form saying I was staying at the hostel for X amount of days and I gave immigration this and that was fine. When I arrived at immigration they gave me this very difficult form to fill out to show where I was living, it had a bunch of questions like who was living in the house and nationalities, and the home owner had to fill it out. I didn't have to fill out that difficult form because my hostel gave me a paper sing I was staying at the hostel.

I did the same process in Kho Phangan. But it took long time. 1 hour to give the form and then to come back in the afternoon to get the passport. Also took 1 hour. Damaged the whole day.

What about the TM30 form. It is the most important one yo explain about. This for need to be filed by the hotel and you need to bering it with you. Also this gorm is valid to 24 hours only, so you need to ask it in the same day that you file the request.

Your title is wrong as you didn't extend your visa. If you bought a Tourist Visa from the Thai Embassy/Consulate in your country before you left for Thailand and were stamped in for 60 days you get your extension from the main Immigration Office at Chaengwattana, Building B, Counter J. If you entered on visa-exempt, you are going to go to IT Square, Laksi Plaza temporary office, just next to Lak Si station of SRT Dark Red Line.

@@anonimus-ni4iz If you enter Visa Exempt (30 day stamp) or on a Tourist Visa (60 day stamp) you can get one 30 day extension of stay per entry. There are some countries that cannot get this extension but it is limited to just 9 countries.

OMG such good information. I am heading to Thailand in a couple of weeks, and this issue has been causing me quite a bit of stress. I assume the same process will be used in Chiang Mai, or Pattaya? I hope the new government goes ahead with the 3 month tourist visa, it would be so much easier. Thankyou again, the best video on the subject.

Let me ask you something did you show or have a throw away ticket when you arrived in. Bangkok I thought about getting a one way ticket like to pheon phen Cambodia as I throw away ticket . I plan on coming like in a few weeks from now to.

I didn’t have to show an outbound ticket when I arrived in Bangkok. Sometimes they ask when I plan to exit the country, and I tell them a few weeks and I’ll book the plane ticket later. Generally they just want verbal confirmation, but rarely (in my experience, happened only once) they’ll have you book one on the spot. I usually book a ticket to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia because it’s cheap and Canadians have 90 days visa-exempt there.

Thai immigration will not ask you, your airline in your home country will ask you for this before you get on the plane, so you will need to have this. I did this for free by buying a refundable plane ticket in USA. Actually, All USA tickets have a 24 hour refund by law. I used American Airlines, but I could have used any.

I have searched and asked and no answer yet. Hopefully you can help answer this. Can i stay in thailand for a year on a tourist visa. Visa runs and such. Not an elite visa either. Jeez... i dont have 25k usd. Lol

Based on my knowledge, no. With a tourist visa you get 60 days + 30 days extension making it 90 days. After 90 days you have to fly out. I believe you’re only allowed to do this twice, totalling 180 days out of the calendar year. If you want to stay a whole year, there is the education visa.
