    Brilliant! It's a very involved process. I kept the video up and paused as I did each step. There are issues (no prior bank reconciliations, for instance) but nothing I can't fix. Thank you! And beware to those out there that click on a 'Google search' that tries to charge for this. It's not that hard if you're careful and doesn't cost anything!

    I was able to download a customer's file from QBO today and I imported into Accountant 2019 version. It is a pretty involved process and you have to follow the video EXACTLY. It is a shame there isn't an easier way to do this from the menu in QBO rather than going to KZread, but it has seem to work perfectly on Feb 4 2022.

And at that point the previous wants to keep the info live and active so that he can do his taxes and make correction for end of year. Hello there, Mel. These steps should still work for you here. Whenever you have a chance, could you try logging into your QBO account through an Incognito Window in Chrome, then follow these steps? You can do this by: 1. Opening your Google Chrome browser 2. Click the three-dotted options icon in the top right corner 3. Select New Incognito Window then login to qbo.intuit.com If you still have trouble going through the steps from there, please get in touch with our Technical Support Team using the Help(?) icon in-account for further assistance! ^Faith

    Hey there, Sim! Yes, you can indeed still migrate your data from QuickBooks Online to QuickBooks Desktop. You can do so by: 1. Opening your Microsoft Edge browser 2. Login to qbo.intuit.com 3. Once you're logged in and directed to your Dashboard, you'll simply remove 'homepage' from the end of the website URL in the address bar, and replace it with 'exportqbodatatoqbdt' and press Enter For example, once you've edited the URL it should look something like this: c71.qbo.intuit.com/app/exportqbodatatoqbdt 4. From there, you can begin the exporting process by clicking the Get Started button For a detailed guide with step-by-step screenshots, please feel free to visit: (quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-us/help-article/import-export-data-files/export-convert-quickbooks-online-data-quickbooks/L0tKtLwhn_US_en_US)! ^Faith

  • @quickbooks

    @quickbooks

    2 жыл бұрын

    These are all great questions, Ami, and thank you for reaching out here on KZread. When migrating from QuickBooks Online to QuickBooks Desktop, it's best that you have a recent version of QuickBooks Desktop to bring your online company into. With that being said, QuickBooks Desktop 2018 will be just fine for your conversion depending on how you'll be working in the file after conversion. Please keep in mind that 2018 is considered a 'sunset' product since May 31st, 2021. This means that while basic functions (creating and recording transactions, running reports, etc.) can still be carried out within the program, QuickBooks Desktop Payroll Services, Live Support, Online Backup, Online Banking, and other online services within the software are discontinued and will no longer function. For a better understanding on how the discontinuation policy works, you can visit the following article: quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-us/discontinue-products/quickbooks-desktop-service-discontinuation-policy-and-upgrade/00/185560 If you think you'll need to run payroll, have your bank(s) connected through the bank feed, or have the data backed up regularly once your QBO company is within the program, you may want to consider upgrading the Desktop product to a supported version before converting over. Also, when migrating your data, you're basically sending a copy of the QBO company data to QuickBooks Desktop, so all of your data will stay in QBO if you decide not to continue using Desktop! For more information on what to expect when migrating, you can visit the following articles: quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-us/import-or-export-data-files/export-and-convert-your-quickbooks-online-data-to-quickbooks/01/186187 quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-us/manage-data/limitations-when-you-convert-from-quickbooks-online-to/00/185940 Please let us know if you have any other questions!

    And every time you log in, you have to have a code texted to your phone or email for entry. And if you want to have multiple reports up, you have to open up multiple versions of QB. And if you it's in real time which is terrible. And report generation seems like it is something out of the 80s it is so cumbersome. You can't generate a report that shows customer address and amount paid by year; ridiculous!

    Wow, trainwreck UI failure right off the first step. Really, I need to edit a typo-prone URL change into the location bar? Seriously, that's what passes for a production ready feature? Is it really that hard to put an "Export" link in the nav menu? You're a $13 billion dollar company...and this is what your product lead signs off on for production?

    And it only gets worse... Honestly, IDGF about actually using QBDT, I only need these shenanigans because TurboTax doesn't support importing from QBO...which itself is a stunning product synergy failure especially given how hard Intuit is pushing Online for everything to the point it's difficult to even find the desktop products anymore.
