    Remember to keep the design lower than where your mouth will be touching the glass. Rub N Buff isn't food grade or food safe. You do not want that stuff anywhere near your mouth!

    You don't need anywhere near that amount of rub'n'buff for something that size. Depending how often you use the stuff, with that amount you will burn through a tube fairly quick, which will start to get a little costly. Just the first blob you put on the "Hubby" glass should be plenty. The stuff goes a very very long way.

  • @itssojohnsondesign2626

    @itssojohnsondesign2626

    Hi! You will gently wash however- Removable vinyl may lift a bit, but permanent vinyl will give you the best stick. As you dry it, be sure to pat dry as smaller pieces, and thin edges will flip and move with hard scrubbing

    I had great success with the silver but I found the gold to be a nightmare. It just would not completely come off the glass that was not etched. I tried two different shades with the same results. I ended up having to use acetone to get almost all of it off and then use silver on top. Have you used gold successfully?

  • @itssojohnsondesign2626

    @itssojohnsondesign2626

    Rub and Buff is permanently into glass, its when you start chipping at it or scraping it that youll begin to fade it. Also because we used etch cream on the base it helps to hold the rub and buff in, as would if we sanded the material. It adheres stronger with that surface sanded or with the etch

    How long do you have to leave the etching cream for it to set properly? I've failed miserably doing this, maybe I didn't do it right and I want to succeed the 2nd time around. Thank you so much for sharing this with us.

  • @itssojohnsondesign2626

    I leave it for a few minutes.. maybe 5 or so... what you can do is when you remove the etch cream dont remove your stencil vinyl yet. give it a wash and then dry it and you can see if it etched enough for you... a good way to know is once you wipe it dry look from the other side of the cup and you should see a "foggy" effect on the parts you etched. Hope this helps!

    When using Armour Etch, please use plastic (not latex, not vinyl, thick plastic/rubber) gloves. That stuff is no joke and can burn through your skin, muscle tissue, and even seep into your bones. It is an extremely dangerous product that needs to be handle with care.

    I've been etching with Armour Etch for 25 yrs. LOVE IT. I put a good even heavy coat on, wait a few minutes and wash off with warm/ hot water then clean as usually. I've left it on a few minutes to an hour. NO difference in shade. I always lay my glasses down to help make sure no shadow. I have left it on my arm for an hour and NO issues. My kids wanted to help mom and now my grandson so I've repeated that and again no issues. But everyone is different.
