First off great channel!! My dad died of Covid in April, and I’ve decided to become a more hands on man, and I need to stay busy to try and deal with the trauma of it. @@StoneCoatCountertops absolutely- these simple color recipes are great for folks just starting out - the Montana Marble sprays that SCC carries are also great for first timers! Really changes up the look and on a dime! Love SCC!

Liked that little plastic trowel. Looks handy for epoxy jobs.

I'm so glad you guys advertise like you do on KZread. I found you while watching some custom woodworking channels. But I reached out to two other epoxy companies and they told me an epoxy coat on a sink couldn't be done.... you just told them "hold my beer!"

I bet the companies you called do outstanding work. The quality of this top is going to be mediocre at best. You can see the reflection of the backsplash and it has horrible orange peel. You would need to coat just the backsplash multiple times to bury the fleck texture. Then you would need to sand and sand and sand before the top coat. That would be the only way to get a quality mirror finish. No reputable company will spend the multiple days on site to do that. The companies that do will give you a substandard finish and take your money.

Y'all always do absolutely amazing work. Great how to's and just awesome products.

Nailed it!!!! Great comment, let me know if you have any questions before starting your project! Clean with TSP Sand with 60-120 grit Clean Dust Apply thin bonding primer Apply 2 coats of undercoat in your color choice Apply Stone Spray Apply Epoxy Apply Ultimate Top Coat if wanted COUNTERTOP COMPLETE!

I'm wondering on the ultimate top coat natural/ gloss why there always seems to be an orange peel texture? I know it wouldn't be for everyone but have you guys ever tried using an hvlp gun to lay down the ultimate top coat?

I just bought my 1st house and it was built 1996. So pink laminate counter tops. I have already painted them white high gloss, Restolum. Do I need to re paint them before stone spraying them and epoxy then or can I keep it high gloss white?

Our central heat and air flows from the floor. Do we still need to turn it off when applying the epoxy?

I was told by others who done their counter tops, especially those with lighter color say they absorb stains. I done research online and found videos of people who stated the same thing.

Mitch is a very intelligent guy......he knows and understands that Smart Water is for pouring into top coat to thin out and Lifewater is for human consumption.

All of your videos are so informative AND fun. I'm leaning toward a Carrera marble look as the bathroom is small and interior (no natural light). What are your suggestions? Thanks!

I just need to figure out what colors I want and how much I'll need and then I'll be ordering for sure. If not for all your informative videos I would too afraid to even try it, but your step by step makes it look so doable, so I'm doing this.

What a beautiful makeover!! 👏👏 Even though our home was built in 2002, that is the kind of countertops we have in our bathrooms. They have not aged well(originally cream, now brownish yellow in places) and could use a redo!! I'm glad to see that SCC work well in sink/counter combos. Those spray finishes are awesome. 👍 I enjoyed watching the marble version as well!

Great comment! Pro tip on sink, brush the pooled epoxy back up to the sink rim until the epoxy starts to thicken a little and take time to sand any runs or ridges down between coats if you do more than one. Keeps the vertical part of the sink smooth! Thanks for always taking the time to drop such great comments - Mitch 👍

I love this and I think that epoxy is going to be perfect for my bathroom. My question is though, how or even can I do the technique you did for the kitchen where you had to level up the peninsula for them on a bathroom sink with a built in backsplash? I want the white with just a little bit of black veining but I am not sure how to do that with the built in backsplash. Do you have a video of that or can that not be done due to the vertical portion?

Excellent video. Two questions: does this work on ceramic sinks, or does the surface have to be more porous; and what other effects are possible (I see products for marbling, etc.)?

I just wish I can do this on a budget

I am personally not a fan of the stone spray, but that is just my personal taste, I'm sure the customer who chose it would not necessarily enjoy every choice in my house; however, I would bet it is fantastic for hiding any minor dirt or imperfections that might come from normal use in the future, so it is probably a great choice. I am enthused to see this application done on a sink like this that is part of the counter. These are super common where I live and this is so much more economical than having to replace everything.

This one was excellent and I will save this one. Some of the videos you talk too fast or go too fast. This was detailed and perfect instruction. thank you.

Love the look. 2 questions I have about this. 1) How do you ensure that the back splashes are the same thickness of epoxy as the counter top? Gravity says that it will never be that way without removing them. 2) With the Rustoleum Granite spray, based on the caps, I thought that the color on the can was what came out of the can. I.E. gray cap with flecks vs clear coat with flecks. Didn't know that you had to have an undercoat paint.

my cultured marble vanity top with 1 sink is 55" long by 22" wide and has a built in backsplash on the rear, and an option one on the left. Since the left backsplash is removable I will lay it on it's side, but the rear is another story, I'll let the epoxy run down and connect with the bottom epoxy. It's not a squared off built-in backsplash. It's rounded so it flows down to the horizontal plane at a slight rounded 90 degree angle (it's hard to explain, sorry). So that's what I will try to do, but I'm not sure if it will work. I'm looking for a video that they might have done with one like it.

I've seen Alliance Epoxy Spray used and it seems to peel in not too long a time. Is the epoxy you rolled on different than the Appliance epoxy?

looks great. question, can a person do a kitchen sink? i live in a 5th wheel and dropped a large frozen ham in the sink and cracked it. now it leaks and i can't find a sink to replace it. it's a odd size and nothing i have considered will work. it's a double sink. i'd have to put a bonding agent to fill the crack and sand it down. then cover it with epoxy or so i think.. my interior is mostly pecan wood finish. do you have any suggestions? thanks-- it's a fiberglass sink
