I love the idea of a beer themed party! My dad worked as a brewer when I was little and my FAVORITE birthdays were where he would brew us root beer. Good for you for enjoying yourself :)

I’m very late 😂 happy birthday to your now 2/3 year old haha. My daughter’s turning 1 soon, and I’ve been planning and buying 4 months in advance haha. I know everyone will be happy with anything, whether it’s at a park or in a decorated venue - so no pressure, but I think I am doing a lot for her first birthday because I’ve never really planned a birthday before, and now im the parent and it’s all up to me. So strange being responsible of a little person lol. Also planning a fun day for my nieces and nephews and adults to enjoy. Love your video. Had a lot of helpful tips x

Great! This is helpful! We'll be planning soon! Just a note, When using single use utensils/plates, you cannot recycle if they have food/scraps on them (yes, this includes pizza grease)

Glad someone else pointed this out! There are compostable plate (not sure about utensil options) that you can compost with food scraps on them though.

Totally! You can get paper based utensils though 😊

True unfortunately. Even paper-based. Food contaminates everything and you can’t clean or reuse them for diy cause they’re greasy 🤢 Brand new china plates here only cost $1, so I might go for that.

I feel like the first birthday should be celebrated more for the parents than the baby. The parents just survived the first year of keeping another human alive and it should be more a celebration of the anniversary of becoming parents. Of course its still your Child's birthday party but its so easy to waste money on a memory thats not even for them, its for us! Also I agree with no pressure for gifts. At the end of the day, in the early years the party is honestly for the adults, not the kid.

Thank you! We picked dinosaurs as a theme and I got some simple stuff from dollar tree. The best thing I found were mylar t-rex balloons that I'll hang throughout and a few fold out table top dinosaurs. My sister is going to make the cake and we are having hotdogs. His birthday is new years eve, so Christmas, then hurry up and plan a baby's party....lots of stress. We are going to do hotdogs

Music I found was something I overlooked and one of my guests (I didn't know who) brought it upon themselves to blast their stereo during my event... granted it was music that mostly everyone enjoyed I would like to have turned it down during times I needed to make an announcement and say hello to everyone.

Hey! I love your channel. I just had my first baby (5 days ago) and I found all your minimalist baby recommendations super helpful when I was preparing for his arrival. Just wondering, where did you buy the turtleneck you're wearing in this video? It looks like nice quality. :)

I had a lot of family ask me what he needed and they came with diapers and wipes and other things he needed rather than a ton of gifts (he still definitely got lots) but it was nice to get some of the things we needed rather than a ton of toys that I didn’t love or were way too old for him!

Girl, you lost me at single use products. If you really don't want to do dishes just serve finger foods.
