Werner T - Learn not to Telegraph your action... 99.9% of all fights start with the “requisite” pre-fight verbal “threats” of “keep talking and Ima blah blah blah” with hopes of not having to fight. As soon as I think I’m in for a fight and that chatter starts, the fight is over. Surprise, speed and overwhelming force to critical points on my opponents body. No such thing as a fair fight, no reason to talk about it don’t be afraid to strike first. If you can walk away without fighting, and be called a wimp, punk or whatever, so what, they are words, walk away from a conflict. I ain’t got nothing to prove to anyone. But if I’m put into a corner, so be it. I’m not in a boxing ring or on a playground in school where there are rules. One rule is the only rule, be the person to end the fight before the opponent gets the first strike in and take them out by whatever means necessary. That is what we are taught in the military.

Then the fact that you get annoyed starts making ya feel pissed off, if it gets so far as angry then personally I get REALLY pissed off and the instigator gets my undivided conditional patience to a finite point, if I can't talk reasonably with them, or walk away, well then that is a real bummer. Even if you somehow hit me faster than me hitting you with a body shot, it'll need to be twice that you land the chop in order to knock me out. I won't ask for much but all I need is two body shots and one uppercut to take you down. Right hook, left hook, uppercut then either you'll be too dazed to fight or I'll lose but if I continue the fight then you are D O N E fucked.

I thought I had posted about this before here (was it removed for some reason?) but that technique by the lady security guard is one that is used in traditional jiujitsu and nicknamed "The Cloture" (b/c it "ends" the fight). Very effective for females to use against mashers, btw. Ideally, though, you want to position one leg behind one or both of your attacker's legs before delivering the chin strike w. the palm. This step ensures that they fall backwards over your leg hard to the ground, usually striking the back of their head in the process.

As to the chop to the side of the neck, I would use a hammerfist blow. Chops are a bit tough unless your hand is toughened up. The easiest blow I think would be the palm strike to the chin. The last technique seems the most difficult. In the end, executing any fighting technique can be much harder than it looks. The best fight is no fight at all. I am 64 and I have accomplished that.

18 years old and I agree, I've been in several fights and it is _not_ fun, no matter how well you do, or how badass you think you look, it is dangerous both physically and legally, if you can deescalate the situation and end with physical contact, _do it._ the one and only time you _should_ fight (excluding sport fighting i.e boxing) is when absolutely necessary. Words to live by: _"you are not John Wick, use your words."_

True enough, but, if you use the side of the heel of your hand (the end of the bone you're trying not to break), you have the advantage of focusing the energy of the blow into a small area. It requires a little more accuracy, but I think you'd be delivering a more solid impact. I agree with him about getting it over with quickly...the longer you're in a fight, the more opportunities your opponent has to injure you. At 62, I've also found avoiding fights to be the best solution. As long as you remain calm, it's usually not terribly difficult to get the other guy to calm down--most people are only trying to intimidate you, so don't let them.

There is a place where the jaw attaches to the skull, just below the ear, it is called the gaglia. There are a group of nerves there. Touch the spot with your finger and you will find it. If you hit someone on the chin just right it forces the jawbone into the gaglia and will knock them out cold. In boxing it is called " hitting them on the button". It is also a good place for a palm strike.

What's missing from this very good video is the psychology of an encounter. If your job is to save yourself, run. If your job is to save someone else, try to avoid a fight at all costs. If you must fight, be very aggressive, overwhelming and come as a surprise. Don't threaten with words, don't posture, don't telegraph readiness with body language. Once you feel that talking won't do, strike with extreme violence and surprise.

I know someone who did this to a guy who started being aggressive in a bar. He broke the guy's jaw and the guy fell and hit his head. Ended up in a coma and then died months later. The person I know who did this is still in prison for manslaughter years later and won't be out anytime soon. It completely destroyed his entire life. If someone tries to start a fight with you, talk them down and/or leave. Just run the f away immediately if necessary. Literally nobody will remember you for being "cool" and fighting back and you could end up in prison or murdered by a gang of his mates later on, assuming the guy you decide to fight doesn't suddenly pull a knife and kill you before you even know what's going on. In real life people die very often in stupid fights, it is not like the movies or cool tv shows.

Wise Words, Austin Dyer, Very wise words. The older we get, the more we learn. There is an old saying, listen to older free men.... They are alive, they have survived, and they have kept themselves from being locked up. There is no shame in being wise and walking away from / avoiding a fight, ESPECIALLY over something stupid. Alway be able to legally justify your actions, whatever a reasonable person would do in your situation. If you have no choice, you have no choice. Always be in a position to defend yourself, whether on the street, or in a courtroom, criminal and civil lawsuit. Best policy, as Austin Dyer has written, avoid the confrontation and ONLY fight when you have no other option.

The triangle bone /palm heel strike to the jaw the reason it knocks someone out is simple,at the back of the jaw underneath the ears is a big knot of nerve endings. When you punch someone on the jaw or the point of the chin the jawbone is propelled into that knot of nerves which simply puts the lights out instantly, is is human biology 101.

Second punch described is from tai chi. Problem with it is that you can easily break neck of your opponent. That punch can get you behind the bars in a second.
