Windows 10 and Windows 11 include tools to help you use less drive space, including Compact OS, which allows you to run the operating system from compressed files. When running CompactOS, Windows update can replace or remove individual files as needed to help maintain the drive footprint size over time.

Hello everyone! I have an NVMe sdd and I noticed that after compressing files on windows 11 the read/write speed of file transfer decreased significantly, did anyone else do the same thing?

Is this option the same as you can enable when you connect a new HDD and you do all the setup and there is a part that says something like "Enable compression for archives and folders", or something like that?... Greetings.
