How to Edit Wedding Photos in Lightroom

Hey guys!! Welcome back to this week's video. ✨Here's the preset I use (fuji) in this video i.refs.cc/Tx4NEkvR?smile_ref=e...
Today I'm diving into sharing how to edit wedding photos in Lightroom - especially those underexposed and unideal images. I like my images to feel bright, romantic, and elegant so even when I photograph weddings in darker areas inside, I want my final edits to reflect this look.
Hope you enjoy this video~

    +Frank Favale hey FDF! I export to the folder where I save high res jpegs. This is where I keep the Raw files, & the LR catalog too. I store on external hard drives. Then, for prints I use White House custom color, millers, or Nations.

    Quite late to the party here but I've been watching your videos for the past few days (loved the IG live streams!) and am considering getting Lightroom. How many images are you typically editing for a wedding and does it take you 5 mins or so per image, how many hours do you roughly factor in after a wedding for editing. Thank you! X

    +Melissa Contreras hey! Thanks so much for tuning into the Instagram live wedding stream :) I typically don't spend this long editing each and every image. Once I do one edit, I can typically apply that edit to the rest of the set. I edit around six to eight hundred per wedding!

    Usually to get a sharp image like she does you probably would have to shoot at F5.6 and manual focus. (You can auto focus also of course but its usually better to manually focus if you have the time just incase or do both) F5.6 usually gets people in focus for me, I love getting a great bokeh picture but a lot of the times shooting at 1.8 can give you soft images.

  • @dantepitimada2255

    @dantepitimada2255

    6 жыл бұрын

    Just noticed she shot at 2.0 though! usually when I open my aperture up I take a good amount of photos just incase another doesn't focus, but the best bet is usually to manually focus in my opinion but everyone works different and also depends on your lens and camera. some cameras have better auto focus systems than others.

    Love your videos but I would like to add to this one that if you load the images into Adobe Bridge and open the RAW files in Photoshop, it is a lot easier and faster to bulk edit and save. And you can convert lightroom presets to use in ACR. I tried lightroom for about 6 months and always hate it when you have to go to PS for a few things, so instead of switching back and forth, why not use one program that does it all? JMHO. Cheers.

    I use photo mechanic to cull! Definitely faster than Lightroom but I'm in photoshop so little that Lightroom makes sense for my editing 99% of the time especially with the volume of images I edit.

So, I upload it on WordPress my blog and it’s still very blurry, the quality is just boring not as good as seeing it on my camera screen, or just even worse! I’m wondering if this is a lens problem or Wordpress/computer problem? Should I invest in Lightroom to edit my photos better. I need help!! Thank you

    That comes down to depth of field. If you use a higher f stop you will be able to get more people in focus but a lower number f stop will be a narrow shallow DOF.

    Tutorial on editing: "so i'm just gonna slap on this preset with no explanation of the adjustments it makes" I find it so frustrating when youtubers do this. I say this with all due respect, your work is lovely.

    Haha!! I hear ya. I don’t show my HSL sliders because this is my signature preset and I don’t want to have everyone editing like me. Instead I share tips for reducing noise, changing exposure, and warming highlights :) I recommend creative live for more in-depth tutorials :)

    Look up pictocolor icorrect portrait plugin for photoshop. It has made color easy for me in 98% of all cases. You click on neutrals first and then skin tones and it corrects to a 98% accuracy. I have had it miss very rarely. I do usually warm it a bit but nothing major.
