How To EASILY Do A Valve Job On A Kohler Magnum 20 Engine
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
In "No Good Deed Goes Unpunished", Taryl goes over the long and lengthy process it takes to do a valve job on this Kohler Magnum 20 engine. This is the engine on Taryl's "Mow Tow" lawn mower tow vehicle. Last week he rebuilt the carb and now he's on to a valve job. Prior to and after the fix, Big Grandma D accuses Taryl and Junior of swapping out her mower for a different one. She even attempts legal action! See how it all plays out in another funny yet informative how-to video from your buddies at Grass Rats Garage! And you know what time it is, time for dinner!! And There's Your Dinner!!

Need to see more bloopers, FUNNY
When he says "this isnt the space shuttle, its an old lawn mower" no matter how many times I hear him say it, I laugh out loud ever time.. Its the gift that keeps giving !
It's good to learn from a pro who literally knows it all from experience. I love how you retrofit fuel pumps and other brand mufflers (muffkin's) that are cheaper and easier to replace than OEM high dollar parts. Keep up the great work!
Another GREAT production from Mr. Dactyl and his VERY talented boys. Y'all are the best!! Thank you again for educating and entertaining me fellas.
Taryl really knows his stuff. Outstanding mechanic!
That way a satisfactory thud when Jerkenstein flew over the fence!!
Always loved it when movies would show the outtakes - lets the viewer know that shooting a movie doesn't always go as planned! "Hope I didn't wrinkle your Lawsuit!" Haha! Good stuff...

I learn a lot watching Taryl and appreciate the time they spend filming, editing... can't beat it. But he doesn't mind working on stuff while the dirt & grime are still on it. My OCD requires that I clean all this away before I start wrenching. Not sure why... it just drives me nuts thinking all this gunk is falling into places I want to be clean. Just a thing with me.

We're also what happens if you want to eat some pork rinds in your hands have all that Gunk on it and I don't know I like using gloves although I get the real cheap ones and they are all the time so my hands get dirty anyways
LOL 51:53 over the fence like classic SCTV. The use of dummies (tee-hee) in film is an art form. Taryl nailed it. Stay gold.

You got that old beast purring like a kitten. I wouldn't have seen it if I didn't believe it :-)
That was a lot of work on the old engine. Enjoyed seeing the grinding machines in action. Excellent video, as usual.
TARYL YOU ARE A GREAT TEACHER...... I HAD TO DO THIS EXACT JOB, AND DID IT WITH NO PROBLEM BECAUSE OF YOUR VIDEO..... THANK YOU SIR.
Yes, I do actually have a valve grinder at home. 😂 But awesome video as usual. Currently binge-watching them all
Love the bloopers! You guys crack me up!! I’ve learned so much from your videos, thank you!
i whole heartedly appreciate this video, thank you
Great video!! Thanks guys!!!!🍺❤🇺🇸
Air travel's picking up again, especially for Ronnie!😆 Nice job, sounds good now. Thanks all👍
I think if I had it torn down that far I would have gone ahead and replaced the rings. Good job in any case! Thanks for the video.

every time i work on my lawn mower i think of you and your background music , my neighbors think i am strange because i listen to your music while working.
Good stuff to learn from and fun at the same time.... Thanks from Sweden...
Always good for a laugh ! Love it.
You sir, is definitely smarter than you look. Love your videos and willingness to do things right.
I've got my 301 cast iron K and my Vanguard 1/2 VW motor. Both are #1! And I use grease on gaskets when I need help. GOOD video.
Love the dancing Taryl!! You're awesome 😊
Love the out takes at the end of the video.
The end lmfao 😂
you sir are a godsend.........your tips are priceless
Sounds great Taryl.
Good job Taryl. That was a fiddly one.
I have found the use of guide bolts very helpful when installing things with gaskets and such. It's like having the third hand.
Love you’re show dude
i have a mv18s and i always thought it was sorta noisy/ticky now that ive heard yours with a fresh valve job be kind of noisy im more comfortable about the slight ticking noise it makes its a super healthy engine good compression
You are the most incredibly talented mechanic and you explain everything so clearly and precisely, I'm sure you are a professor in disguise. Please tell me about your teeth?
Funny outtakes...Great video. I think you need to make a BEST Montage of your Skits.
Great Video, and great job on the Kohler👍
That was great! Especially the bloopers. Hahahaha
Nice miniature valve compressor, also a handy valve spring tool, it works the same as a GM door spring tool.
you make my day taryl 😂💪🏻💪🏻
Engine sounds great Taryl! Ronny did get a good deal...low Air Fare!
awesomeness as always
Thank you!!!!
Thank You Taryl
".......hope I didn't wrinkle yer law suit!" lolol
You've guys are fantastic❤️😎😀👍
Nice to see how those old Krohler valves work. Even nicer to see Ronnie thrown over the fence.
Best engine ever made.
Always a 😂 love the videos teryl
Taryl = This isn’t the space shuttle, just a old lawn mower .lol 👍
Thank's for throwing ronnie over the fence..i needed that...lol..the kroller sounds like new..i hate kroller engines..unless it's a command.. See you one the next one..Cheers 🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
For those who don't know why the valves was that bad is the vent tube was off. With the vent tube off ,allowed unfiltered in the engine. Looking at the intake it looks it is sandblasted.
Impressive, you are good!!!
По твоим видео, я почти выучил английский язык! У меня погрузчик Avant 419 с двигателем kohler cv640, все ремонтирую по твоим видео. Ты молодец!!! 👍🤟
Taryl, just watched Gary on Scrap it Man. Just to let you know i've subscribed. Looking forward to watching your videos. Cheers.
cool info !!! thanks !!!!!
Love this skit lol
just put a vacuum pump on my m18,drilled a hole in the oil fill tube for vacuum, works great
Nice Valve Honer!😎
Ronnie gets another flying lesson.....he never learns. Good info on the Kroler ;-)
Nice work
Brilliant video thank u 👍😁😁😁😁😁😃😃😃😀😀😀😎😎😎😎👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
You should do a gag where you and JR. open a lawnmower daycare center and Ronny shows up , wacky stuff happens then he gets arrested because he’s not allowed within 5 miles of a daycare due to a past “incident”. That would be hilarious
With the amount of work there is do on these old Kohler’s just for a valve job, the customer would have really saved money by rebuilding the complete engine.🛠
Watching your video in Indianapolis
I have a Troy-Bilt Gtx16 with a Briggs Vanguard 16 v-twin and a Troy-Bilt gtx20 with a Magnum M20QS. The Magnum is so much smoother and quiet running compared to the Vanguard 16. I know the Vanguard is supposed to be more efficient and better overall. However, the Magnum runs much better in my opinion.
Do you not resurface the Valve Seats? Before setting clearance of course. Looks like something leaking (fuel)? at 46.00
Good blooper stuff.
She is a pumpin and sparkin 👍
Might have to send you a box of gloves and some carbspray your hands are getting so dirty,it's really getting to me LOL
Taryl's off his game, I hope he doesn't bring down the "space shuttle"

How about a "Complete Rebuild" of this Kohler Magnum M18/20... Maybe a "Complete Rebuild" of an Onan P220 on a SEARS FF20! I've been having problems with the Hydraulic 3-Point System...😿 Take care Taryl, 🤓 -Thomas Port Orchard, WA (Just West of Seattle, Washington)
Bloopers!!! More bloopers!!!
Must only use those metal spring washer things on the carb linkage on the vertical shaft engines. All the horizontal Magnums I’ve worked on use the plastic clips....
Yo yo when doing up the head bolts if u find the paperwork is upside down just stand on your head. Problem sorted.. good one mate
tayrl, how do you like that lil 1/4 battery ratchet? love your videos, appreciate all ive learned from ya!
We always called those carb linkage clips "Jesus clips" because when they go flying off, only Jesus can help you find them.
I have a Magnum and it is not a mower! Nice video!!
Jorgenstein's air fuel mixture didn't hit, the sweet spot...Not enough air.
Love your video's...hate the music!!!

LOL Taryl I fix washing machines here in Australia and I've had a woman do that to me "Its not my washer" I just cleaned it.
I vote "There's your dinner" be followed by a hungry belly sound effect. (Or maybe a belch?)
Isn't it great when they come to life.
Help me taryl the one your my only hope... I am in desperate need of a valve refacer I had one for years I think it was a rotary 1726.. I know stens and Oregon both had the same unit but it must have been discontinued mine finally bought the farm.. I've tried propartsdirect and several other suppliers and no one has them . thought I might give the small engine guru a shot.. Thanks Mr. Dactyl👍
