Onion skins are a great natural dye - readily available and easy to work with. In this video I show you how I dye scoured wool fleece simply and naturally.
This is part of a series of videos on fibre processing, following along as I prepare fibres for spinning into yarn ready for weaving or knitting.
The video I mentioned in which I scoured the fleece is here: • How to Scour Raw Wool ...

Oh what a gorgeous colour! Thanks Marina, this was very informative.
Thank you that was really interesting. I’ve been collecting onion skins - I need a lot more I can see x
That is so timely, Marina, as I have a bag of onion skins under my sink. Maybe I need to collect a few more and then I'll definitely give this a go. Thank you!

Beautiful
THANK YOU!!! Your video was EXACTLY what I was looking for! Two questions: how much fleece did you dye? And would you keep the rest of the water with the dye in it for another batch? Thank you! I’ve subscribed to your channel and I’m checking all your videos out! I’m from Australia and I’ve been saving onion skins for a while! ❤❤❤
Marina which video did you wash your fleece in? X
