Don't neglect to use Fixative directly after dyeing.

You forgot the fixing fluid. If you don't set the dye it will wash out over the next few washes and get into other clothes.

Has anyone saved the dye mixture to use again? I'm thinking about keeping it covered with a 5 gal. bucket lid so I can use it again. Great vid. TY.

I did this in Jan but only loosely covered the bucket with a piece of flimsy cardboard. When I eventually returned about 3 weeks later, it was surprisingly evaporated. So lid is important. It also clung(/settled?) to the bottom of the bucket after all that time and I’m still too scared to use the bucket for anything else - especially bleaching. This was rit sythetic dye, which of course you must remember to reheat. Hope this helps

Will the dye also color the stitching threads because i want them to contrast with the color off the jeans

Comi: it will depend out what type of material the thread is made of, not all synthetic material will dye.

how does it not dye the stitchings pockets and labels??

i think they’re made of pollster/satin or something. but you’ll notice even in store bought (dyed) jeans their dye gets on their tags.

could i use like red dye for jeans

Yes, if the material can be stained (cotton for jeans) the color doesn't matter.

How did you get the one on the right darker?

it was already darker to begin with. left was faded lighter
