Dont pump , it will dry up on its own. If you pump, it signals the brain your still breastfeeding and you will continue to make milk.

The lactation nurse I asked said to hand express or use a haakaa for some relief but don’t get engorged and to gradually cut down supply as mastitis can develop. And start pumping less and less. It’s called down regulating where you tell your body to stop making milk but should be done gradually over several days. She also said wilted cabbage leaves and Sudafed will dry you up.

They gave me antibiotics for my mastitis, and when I got home from the hospital, I pumped all the milk out and I put cabbage on my breast that is infected and so far it has been working but I keep going back-and-forth whether I want to let my milk completely dry up or give it another go, and this time to half formula and half breastmilk instead of breast feeding exclusively

U need to cover boobs with band aid and say bobo is gone. Then rock her to sleep. If she wake up at night then rock again to sleep. Two or three days will be hard then after that will be easier and they will start sleep through the night without breast milk
