    Had the exact same break on same mower. Tack welded it back on. Then forgot how to put it back together. Thx for the video. Btw it’s handy to go ahead and replace belt and blades and give it a good power wash while you have the deck off

    A good video. May I suggest using a different style cotter pin to make removal and installation easier. I was able to take that cable off without removing that cross bar. One less step, just took some manipulation. Well done.

    Hi i have the Bolens suburban with Viscount twin engine and it has the big pole lever on right side to temp lift the deck up and down, but now its free. The cable is still attached to the deck on the other side , but the pole side , a plastic long part is broken but cant see how it all works.as trans blocks everything. Do you have a manual or pic of the cutting system? i cant find a manual for this older rideon. thanks

    any one know when all numbers match and correct belt that is same same lenthe of old belt , why new belt is loose??

  • @everexpandinglife

    @everexpandinglife

    @Top flight I would look for a mechanical difference. Perhaps the belt path doesn't match the original installation. Or perhaps there is a mechanical difference with the tension pulley or springs.

    ON THAT PARTICULAR DECK WHERE DOES THE SPRINGS ATTACH ON THE DECK. I GOT ONE THAT THE SPRING BROKE OFF AND FOR THE LIFE OF ME CAN'T FIGURE WHERE IT ATTACHED. THANKS

    @JEFFERY KIRBY Not a problem, Jeff. Take a look at the pulley support bracket that moves/pivots. You will notice two small holes on the right side of the pivot point, between the pivot point and the right moveable pulley. The spring attaches the end of the blade engage cable to the hole that is closest to the pivot point on the pulley bracket. I hope this helps. Good Luck!

    Hey man can you help me please i have a 42 in with the same brake assembly. But when i turn pto off. The blades stay spinning not very fast but they dont stop completely. Do you why

  • @everexpandinglife

    @everexpandinglife

    4 жыл бұрын

    @Omar Argullin It sounds like either your blade is not fully disengaging (meaning there is still tension on the belt, causing enough friction for your blades to move) or the blade brake is not engaging. (maybe both) 1st) Check to make sure your belt is properly installed... that it follows the right path. There may be a diagram on your deck. If not, you can find one online. 2nd) Check the mechanical components between the engage lever and the deck. Make sure everything is moving as it should. There could be something broken or maladjusted. The engage lever should release the cable that loosens the belt and engages the blade brake. It could be somethig as simple as a missing spring on the blade brake.

    @@everexpandinglife i check the belt and is installed corectly. And i have all springs but they look rusty and wore out. Do you think it could be my pto cable

  • @everexpandinglife

    I don't know. In order for the cable to prevent the blades from disengaging, it would have to be too short... maybe bent or kinked. Check the entire length of the cable for damage. Another thing you could check: With the mower off, disconnect the cable. Then, see if you can move the blades by hand. If the blades don't move, then the issue may be the cable. However, if the blades still turn, then there is a problem with the blade brakes. They may be rusty or something.

    I have a friend who has a MTD Belen’s riding mower. It’s 15.5 H.P. He said it needs a new deck. He has a buggies rubber cord holding it up to mow with. He wants to sell it. It cranks right up. Light works, and no smoke. Transmission works good. It is 11 or maybe 13 years old. He wants $100.00 . Is it worth getting a deck for it?

  • @everexpandinglife

    If the engine and transmission are good, $100 is a good deal. Just make sure you're not getting a lemon. If the tractor itself is solid, it's worth it to repair or replace the deck. But I would check it over carefully and be sure to drive it. If it is a friend you can trust and the only problem is the deck, then go for it. But if you're not sure how trustworthy the person is, or you think there is any chance there are other problems besides the deck, your money might be better spent elsewhere. Good Luck!

    Crazy mine bro broke in the same exact spot and looked just like your piece. Clearly this is a design flaw, which is probably on purpose. No way they can all break the same way, same bracket, it’s a scam.
