Tip - When Ur starting a new step a good thing to do is start in 50% speed and when U feel comfortable move up to 55% speed then after u feel comfortable again move to 60% etc. To change speed in training go to settings then training and it should be there This helped me out a lot and sped up the training, but don't rush it take it slow.

Those who need help with steps 1, 2 and 3: Beforehand: Turn up your FOV to 110, it helps. Step one: Look at the white circle under the ball. Your back wheels, or the ones that don't turn, should be ON the white circle or slightly inside. Your ball is falling off because of this. If it's falling off to the left or right, that means you are turning, or are on the second training shot. Like he said in the video, if you fail press the reset button. Step two: Whenever you need to turn, try and move forward slightly more, and when you do a sharp turn, slowdown a lot, it helps keep the ball stable. Step three: Don't try to jump, power slide or boost when turning, that is the easiest way to make the ball unstable. Final tip, the more of those orange sparky hits the appear when you hit the ball are a good sign, the more the better. Post edit: If the ball is falling forward, the ball is moving faster than your car, you should never be able to hold down boost and the ball to fall forward while doing so. Another tip, if you don't see any orange sparks, that's either because your car is perfectly balancing the ball, which is a good thing, or you are just really really good at dribbling.

Andrew - I have a suggestion for you. In junior high (1970's) I had an english teacher who oriented the classroom toward the hallway (east west) instead of the traditional north-south direction. That allowed her to have the outside windows behind her and the class in front of her. Then she'd do a little instruction, and gives us worksheets to do to keep us busy. Why? Because that allowed her to put her headphones on, pop a cassette in her tape player, and study her Greek lessons in advance of a trip she was taking that summer. Now...I would bet that unlike my English teacher, you actually care about teaching your class and how things go for your students and I would never suggest otherwise - that teacher I had was the most inattentive instructor I ever had at any level....but.....if you really want to learn how to dribble....you can go my Jr. High English Teacher's route and sit behind the class. Just throwing it out there! In retrospect I can't believe she got away with it. There was a pretty decent fight that took place in the classroom one day and she was so absorbed in her Greek lessons it took her quite awhile to cast her view away from Mt. Olympus and realize what was going on. Class was going crazy, desks getting knocked all over as these two boys went at it (both honor roll students btw), but her concentration was not going to be broken that easily!

I didn’t even know you could change your button layout 6 Months ago, which made the game wayyy more flexible and easier. Never thought I would ever get to play at the level that I’m currently at. Had the game 2 years and was off & on when playing it because of the button layouts but now, I try to get in at least one game a day. It’s filled with so much enjoyment as well as excitement now each and every time I play the game. Thank you I really appreciate your videos and all that you do for the RL community.

Great video here! I've been trying to learn dribbling with other methods and this has been so helpful so far. The genius is in isolating the first 2 stages to eliminate the need for any turning. Best method I've seen yet for mastering just Gas\Boost control. Much better than the "hug the wall" method. I'm now onto the "Score 5 times using only gas with the off center ball" and you're a demon for making it so SLIGHTLY off center that it seems like you can make it no problem, only to fail right as you get close or need to shift directions. The temptation to boost is strong. Q.Q

yesterday i was basicly the bad dibble example in this vid.. really no idea at all just touching up the ball.. 24 hours later i can dribble the ball into the goal 2/10 times in the second challange of this training pack. great videos you do and best thing is the trainingpacks you create and EXPLAIN how they are intended to be used.. to be honest. when i play random custom trainings i just jump or fly around without feeling much of a progress but with this one "noob dribble" pack i made more progress in the last 24 h then in the 3 weeks that i play the game. great content tho !

Hey for anybody struggling in the turning part, you can start practicing keeping the ball on top by looking at the circle on the ground and the tint to stay in the center (you will get much more consistent), but then in order to master it you should then try and look at the ball instead of the circle. Keep grinding, you will master it!

TL;DR - This pack is amazing. Gave up on step 2 after many hours. Came back months later to try again and fully completed within the same time frame commitment. I tried this pack a few months back early plat 1s as a newer player and couldn't score step 2 with a good 3-4 hours in. Gave up frustrated and moved on. Decided today (now D3-Champ) to finally commit and prepared mentally for the rage. Managed to get all the way to the final step within 2 hours and can now dribble with nearly complete control after a full day committed. Rank just to show a lot of growth overall between my two attempts to make it an easier second try but, regardless, this video has brought me from sporatic hits and cuts on the ball to catching opponent booms and powersliding their ankles off with the ball controlled on my car the entire time. Don't give up. Thank you for this video and training pack!!

I am Gold 1. I have started following this will be updating my progress here. Day 1: Was able to get the first step (going straight without boost) within one hour. since I've been trying dribbling for 5hrs before that. Moving to the next step. Was able to do the second step 5 times in a row (was easier) boosting and breaking in a straight line. Was able to reach the walls most of the time while balancing the ball. Feeling confident. Let's hope for the best next day Day 2: I felt like I was a bit more confident even though I lost balance sometimes like yesterday. Maybe I am understanding the "feel" of the ball. IDK. (balance using direction and gas only) Day 3: Same training as yesterday. Same confidence, felt like the ball was in more control tho. I need more control before going to the next step tho Day 4: Was able to change the direction of the ball towards the goal..but was unable to goal much Day 5: Was able to change direction towards goal sometimes fail, sometimes success, Did reach goal 10times in a row. but will wait another day just to be safe. Day 6: Was able to do a balance ball change direction and reach the goal 5times in a row two time. but I tried to change my car body seems I was failing more. maybe a placebo effect. let's stick to the same car for now (a hybrid that is) Google Sheet Progress report I'll Update. docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1y9MxfJY3Q2xB-4ulLc5c3B1SwoG8W2sFYMO9FUnHjXI/edit?usp=sharing

I've been stuck in Gold 2/3 with no real skills. At first I couldn't do the first step but now it's so easy. I'm on the third step and when I started it I could barely go two seconds without it rolling off, but now I'm almost at the net and it's the first time in Rocket League that I really can see my improvement. Listen to something and just do it over and over again. Just carried one to the goal as well. I think the difficulty in the third step comes from the micro adjustments you need to do to keep the ball centered. At first it felt impossible but now I know I can do it, I just need to train to be more consistent.

I can't get the ball to "stick" to the car, at all, either rolls off the back or slides down the front, any videos with a break down of the basic basics

Full disclosure, I can’t dribble, but I think that’s what makes it so hard. The ball doesn’t stick, it’s really really hard but you have to constantly actively adjust and stay under it while it tries to slide off your car.

From my experience it's about focusing on matching speed with the ball, and I learned early on it required finesse. The key was practicing feathering the acceleration properly to match the ball. I used to do a drill to practice this by leaving the ball on the ground and pushing it around by feathering just the gas, trying not to go max speed or slow down too quickly so it sticks. It's about sensitivity, learning to make very small adjustments. Little consistent taps of acceleration, rarely using the brakes and if so just a TINY tap. Finesse. Once I was able to get the ball to stick to the side of my car on the ground while turning by feathering the gas it became easier to set it up on top of the car. Still hard at the beginning, but easier. Keep at it and the muscle memory will grow! 👍

Best thing I can say. I’m personally learning to dribble. 1.) don’t stop trying.. like it may get frustrating but practicing speed and momentum with the ball is important 2.) focus your car less on the ball and more on the circle on the ground. Stay in the circle. Once you begin to connect that way, go back and focus on the ball. Hopefully this helps!!!

Best tip I was told is to keep all 4 of your wheels inside the circle on the ground. Then to gain speed or setup a flip, let the ball roll forward until your back wheels are slightly out of the circle. I had 2k hours and couldn't ground dribble until someone told me that lol. It went from impossible to easy. Was mindblown.

For those who have problem with the training pack like the ball not being perfectly centered, open bakkesmod go to "Custom training" and switch off "Enable custom training variance" ;)

I used to not be able to pass level 2 on this training. Now I'm on level 9. (In 2 days overall) I'm saying is even if it's hard at the start push through it and that's how you do it (Edit: Thank you Wayton for making this possible.)

First of all, great Video! One Thing i noticed when practicing was that it was easier FOR ME to keep control of the ball when looking at the white circle beneath the ball (idk if you call it ball indicator).

Was trying a different training where it made you slightly catch it first and after an entire day of practice could only get it to half field by luck. Used this one now I know where the sweet spot is and can pretty consistently finish first drill. Haven’t moved forward yet. To anyone learning expect this to take a full 2-3 days to fully grasp just carrying it from a still spot

One tip for phase 2 of the training: Focus on the circle under the ball rather than on the actual ball! I'm using the gizmo and it seems like I get the best results when I try to get the back wheels to align with the bottom of the circle
