As I watch these videos, I look at myself and understand that I need to improve. I will try to focus on the tips given by one the channels video. It would be helpful if you guys would give me some recommendations in regards to fitness. I have been sedentary and unfortunately cannot do a single pushup. I have downloaded an app for workouts. So tips are appreciated.

You never get another chance to make a first impression. Decide who you want to be...then dress for it. It's hardly everything, but it's a start...you tend to act like the man in the mirror. And excellent manners is the second step...

The crucial point this video overlooks is *aesthetics.* It really doesn't matter what exactly you wear, it's just that the "old money" people referred here learned to understand what looks beautiful. No prints, colors that go together and good proportions. My mom was an aesthetics teacher and even though we're not rich, my entire family looks great because we just know how to pick the best from the options we have.

IMO listing brand names is a "new money habit," new money seems to have forgotten the universal almost-science of beauty.

The most distinct point of an "old money" appearance is a complete lack of stress. If you are well dressed, groomed, and look well slept with clear skin, you appear stress free. Money is normally the cause of most stress, and to not look stressed subconsciously makes you think of money. Being a model also helps 😂

I would add that the old money warderobe actually resembles italian menswear, which excludes black almost completely as a color for clothing. Instead, it uses dark navy ("suit navy") and charcoal grey as substitutes for black clothing. In general, old money consist of whites, blues, beiges, browns, greys and muted greens (olive, khaki, faded pistaccio etc.).

This trend is blowing up quicker than anything I can remember lately. I saw like 4 other videos last week on it aswell. I will say it's way better than this baggy wide fit look that hopefully is on its way out this year.

Fashion rolls around on 30 year cycles. There are original trends that are unique to the decade, sure. There might be inspiration from any era of fashion, sure. But the Primary Fashion trends in a decade are influenced by what came about 30 years before. Pop culture works much the same way weirdly enough 😂. Notice how the 2010's were filled with 80s Nostalgia, for fashion that meant AF1s, AJ1s, skinnier Jeans and others. In the 2020s the decade of nostalgia is gonna be the 90s. The baggier Jeans are probably going to be around for the next 5 years at least. Their might be a Netflix TV show like Stranger Things, set in the 90s or a Men in Black day (like Back to the Future day). I'm spitballing but we're defo gonna see more Nineties trends in fashion and pop culture in the next few years. I really do hope the baggy jeans die quickly tho. I don't get people's obsession with them.

@@himum3429 those are really solid points! But yes hopefully the more baggier silhouettes start to fall by the way side again in the not so distant future. I also can't remember recently a trend that has blown up quicker than this old money one. I honestly thought it would only be a select few people mentioning it or even showcasing it but as of the past few weeks I literally can't go anywhere without someone doing a reel or video about it and someone said it's because of some HBO show that's on now or something.

Almost all the shoes shown are not actually Oxfords. The first brown "Oxford" is a Double Monk. The black "Oxford" is a Derby. The Cap-Toe "Oxford" is a Cap-Toe Derby with light brogueing. The "Wingtip Oxford" is a Cap-Toe Derby with light brogueing in brown and the plain-toe "Oxford" is just a regular Derby. Makes one question the quality of the video overall...

Sorry mate but please inform yourself better when you do a video outside your area of expertise. The three shoes you showed for oxford examples are all derbies instead.. Also some outfits chosen show there's a certain eye for detail missing in whoever chose them as for example there is a blazer that definitely wouldn't stick up to the quality demands of a connoisseur and a shirts with cheesy detailing that definetly don't fit the look oma is going for.. Then you sometimes chose brands that are clearly only obtainable for actual old money folks, not really helpful for the audience.

A video for all the lower-born who aspire to ladder-climb into what they think is high society. One who is "old money," as this video likes to call it, never refers to himself or his peers as "old money," and one would never be caught referring to his dress or deportment as "an aesthetic." "Old money" doesn't wear brands-"old money" owns brands and sells them at mockingly unjustifiable prices to imposters, poseurs, and arrivistes who have no idea what real wealth is or how it keeps itself hidden. Finally, a man of "old money" will never tell you with what words he actually refers to himself, to his peers, and to the elements of his world; the last thing he would want is for an imposter to acquire the parlance of one who actually belongs in his world.

You cannot dress in old money aesthetic, because old money it's not an aesthetic, it's the real thing. It's about heritage, upbringing, future generations born with the same privilege. The most you can do is to dress in quiet luxury, that's an aesthetic.

I don't really think your average Joe would be able to pull off these looks just picking up a few pieces of clothing, well-tailored or not. You either need to be model handsome (ie. look good in anything) or have an innate attitude that your shit don't stink, both of which are difficult/impossible to develop if you weren't already born with it.

The highwater pants with no socks is always a douchebag look. Doesn't matter how much money you have.
