I've done the "button trick" numerous times. It really does transform an item. My biggest tip when styling myself or friends, is to KNOW your body shape and dress accordingly. Too many 'larger' women swamp their bodies in tent-like tops etc. You give great advice, and I dress very similarly. Great content, as usual.

I have indecisive, short, tall, skinny, overweight, heavy hipped and laaaarge-busted friends (😁), who I help with clothing choices...I get a kick out of watching their faces light up, when they feel pretty. My registered business name was 'The Style Doctor' many years ago. I do it for fun and gratification. I'm 40 minutes from Monday, but happy Sunday to you, too. X

Hi Jess, I couldn't agree more that "quality versus quantity wins every time" ! I have suits from the 90,'s and the 2000's and they still fit and look great even though I don't wear them often. These things get minor alterations depending on trends like trouser length or waist fit. Overall the cost per wear is fantastic if you keep them "forever" Your outfits, as usual are great choices, I love the way you knot that cardigan at the waist. It's so casual chic.

This video is a mini fashion Bible for everyone😃👌- and I’ve already sinned since I bought some knee high brown leather thick soled boots🤦🏽‍♀️😂. Happy Sunday Jess☺️

🙌🏼 All excellent tips!!! My favorite one was that last one: Stand with your head held up high with your shoulders back! I’m 6 ft tall and my mom instilled in me the importance of that at a young age. I had a tendency to slouch and create a curve in my back. That bad habit will make any outfit seem less chic and pulled together no matter how good quality and fit of the clothes. 🤓

Loved this video Jess. I’m with you on quality and avoiding polyester. I think there’s so much noise going on about buying the latest item that it gets confusing. Thank you Jess...some fabulous advice here that I will take on board. And yes, a middle aged tummy is a thing that we all need to adapt to as we age but, you know what, it's normal and easy to cope with and if you have one, it doesnt come across in your videos!!! You still look amazing. I myself just size up one size from my usual if the item is clingy and get it tailored to adjust elsewhere if needs be. Then there is always shapewear!!! It helps too. I used to think my legs were too wide in my 20s and I look back now at images from then and I could only wish for those legs haha! If only we appreciated things more at the time hey! Lovely tips there thank you, I've never tried shape wear under my clothes but I know there's lots of great options about these days. Quality over quantity, definitely yes! Fabric is really important to me, if something is itchy, rough, or hot and sweaty, I just won’t wear it, so it’s not a bargain.

Buttons! It’s so happens that a new coat may need some buttons that are more brown rather than black so that there’s less contrast. They might not come out of my grandmother’s button box but something beautiful online might do the trick. Hope you’ve been doing well this week… As you can see I’m very behind! ❤ from 🇨🇦

Happy Sunday morning to you Jess. I look forward to your videos so much, they are informative, full of style and well planned. I would dearly love it if you could put two videos out a week, no pressure life is crazy sometime and we all understand this, but I really enjoy your content and in “ my humble opinion” you are the most stylist, humble, caring and sweet u tuber out there. I am in my 50’ and I have a wardrobe full of clothes that I do not wear as they are not true to my style, so now when I look at making a purchase I ask myself, “ would Jess wear this and if so how would she style it”, I actually take my phone into the change room and go back through your clips to refresh my memory. As you stated,” one piece at a time”, it’s an expensive process but I need to update my complete wardrobe, arghh! ❤

Love the idea that you pop over to my channel as a reference while shopping! I wonder if I could organise my playlists better to help with this, I'll have a think on that one:) Regarding two videos per week it's great to hear your thoughts on that as it is something I've been thinking about again recently. Now that we're not homeschooling it is a lot calmer so maybe if it's something a lot of women would find helpful I could do again. Maybe if I just did a shorter video midweek so I didn't dilute on the quality, that would perhaps be a good balance? I shall have a think and hopefully come up with a plan. Great tips, your style is so admirable. I am forced to shop online due to limited access to retailers locally, it’s so hit and miss with the sizing kind of mKing me a little crazy! But I appreciate your encouragement to wait on trends and save my pennys for classic pieces. Nice video, thank you!

Such great style tips , something for everyone ! I especially will use the tip for a v- neck , you described as an arrow shape , i am petite , slim hipped with larger bust and you are so right the v shape is much more flattering and balances my shape , what a difference ! I love cashmere , and being on a pretty tight budget i look for good quality cashmere in my local charity shops and i have to say ive been very lucky ! Which will let me save for that Lux coat i wud love . 🌼

I ruined a few items last year but getting them tailored but not understanding my measurements. After years of skinny jeans, moving to wider legs I had them made to short so it limited the shoes I could wear them with, and I didn’t allow for shrinkage. I’ve definitely learnt to think about how I will wear items and what with before I buy them.

I think the sit ups are working Jess.!! Good tip re washing jeans a couple of times before shortening I have noticed they do shrink a little sometimes. Hope you have a good week.

Hi Jess, you are so right quality is the best, I've got trousers in my wardrobe from years ago still look amazing same with jumpers blouses, if you buy good quality it stays, yes I add afew bits in every year but I do have a rule if it's now worn for a year and will I wear it in the future ?? It goes if I think no, the thing I have a problem is my skirt lengths, I've a problem with my knees they are scarred due to a afew accidents my left due to playing hockey at school then I've had 6 operations on my right and no knee cap so it does look strange so I wear midi skirts, and afew pinafore all covering my knees, but sometimes I'm at a loss of how to look wow when going out for a meal, I always feel abit frumpy, so I return to my trousers as I always feel at home I team them up with a nice blouse and tank tops which I'm loving just bought a nice fairisle one from seasalt which goes with most of my stuff, I've afew of these now. Jewelry I tend to keep to my basic clogau gold items, the tree if life design I just adore, but I really do Need advice on midi skirts as I've afew infact I've just purchased 2 celtic and Co midi kilts 1 in blue charcoal and the other in cairngorm heath ( this one is in a khaki green check) whilst the other is blues, charcoals and a touch of brown in it, they're all hand woven in Scotland and hand made with a nice lining, they do cist but fabulous quality and they will blend in with my wardrobe chunky boots ( bought last year) black tights, a chunky jumper and my biker jacket and I'm there, I'm 5ft 8.5 and fairly slim, but hide my legs, due to scars

Thank you so much Shirley:) I’ve finally managed to get around to sorting the gem a touch now so they much better. Such a great shade I’m surprised how much I’ve worn them already x

What great tips! I wish we had cooler weather to wear my knits but we currently have freakishly hot (up to 28C) weather here in Spain!
