I have 5 kids who now are rather big (between 12 and 24 years old) and I have to say that I really never have worn any kind of home wear! Also if I stayed at home the whole day I always got dressed as if I had to go out in the morning. As you said, the most important thing is to feel comfortable, but there are so many ways to dress in a comfortable way! It makes such a great difference in how you feel when you get dressed appropriately. The only time I wear kind of a house wear is when I'm ill 😉

Totally agree!! 🙏❤️ and I guess I didn’t make it super clear in the video but I get dressed every day in ‘normal clothes’ too 😆 I often just change into loungewear clothes in the afternoon if I’ve had a rough day and feel like a need a cuddle from my clothes, or if I’m feeling sick, or if I have my period. The point I was trying to trying to make was if you do wear loungewear don’t just reach for your pjs and dressing gown. Try to match the loungewear to make you feel cute so you don’t get into a slump wearing it. Xx

I would add in the color scheme that is always good to have a dark and light version of what you like to wear. An example of this is when you showed your “diaper bag”. Some days you want to wear dark pieces, some days light and some days you want contrast 😊

When I had toddlers I wore white almost every day. I found it was the easiest to clean and get stains out of. Black shows baby drool so much more than white actually. My tip is to carry a Tide pen, and have Oxi for whites in your laundry room.

Love hearing your Australian accent ( not bogan or broad) and as a grandmother of 60 with 4 grandchildren and living a semi retired lifestyle where going to a regular workplace is no longer my reality this video was very relevant so thanks.

Such a practical and helpful video for moms with little kids. I wish i had this video to watch when my daughter was little. She is a teenager now. I remember the early years after I became a mom, I was exhausted all the time and didn't pay much attention to my appearance, wearing those baggie, shapeless clothes all the time. Then sometimes when I looked in the mirror or saw other moms dressed nicely at park or at school and felt bad about myself. I questioned myself "Where did the well-dressed modern women I used to be go ? Is this what I will look like from now on?" I started to consciously put some efforts into self-care while taking good care of my daughter and things slowly settled into a new balance. Like you said, some old style habit became impractical for a mom, dress shoes for example. But found comfortable alternatives that are functional but still stylish. Good job! Emily.

Oh I’m so glad you liked it 🩷🙏 I think it’s so natural for us as parents to put our kiddies first and get into a bit of a slump with our own style. Sounds like you managed to figure that out yourself and made good change. I can relate to what you’ve said a lot. I also find myself comparing to other mums at the park and out, but I remind myself now that some days I am dressed ‘normal’ and the odd day here and there I am a mess and that’s okay too 👌 (usually around the time of my period I get so tired and I struggle to make effort during this time)

Love this! Such cute and practical outfits. Where is the cropped white tee from that you’re wearing with the linen trousers?? I’ve been looking for something like that. Oversized, cropped, longer sleeves. 👌

Great video! I have to admit I didn't make that much effort though 😂. Couldn't find the time for ironing, so shirts were out, I went for knitted, stretchy fabrics instead. Also, my babies and toddlers would grab at earrings and necklaces, so I left them off too. I used a backpack for nappies etc because I felt it was better for my back, and it kept my hands free, avoiding a bag sliding off my shoulder when bending down to baby. My tip would also be to create separate capsule wardrobes for life with baby and your other life. Items rarely crossed over for me, because I was worried about stains or damage to my nice items. But maybe I could have been a bit braver! Thanks for this and all the best for your journey.

And that’s more than fine of course ❤️ I think it’s important for everyone to do what makes them feel comfortable and what they feel like they need at the time. I don’t want this video to make anyone feel bad about how they dress just to try help anyone feeling in a slump because I’ve been there 😋 Agree about using a backpack, we use one for travelling with Nate it’s much better for the back! I definitely wore different things when Nate was a newborn and things were a little more rough then. 🤩 Love the idea of having 2 separate capsules for anyone not wanting to mix their clothes 🤩 🙏 xx

What type of fabric is the striped shirt you are wearing? I love linen but don't have time for ironing! Looking for light/airy oversized shirts online but need to know the fabric type to avoid.

Mine is cotton and it was from the men’s section of a charity shop 👌👌 If you have a steamer, often that can be quicker for linen. I wash my linen on cold, then shake the pieces out quickly roughly to get out as many wrinkles as possible, and then hang them to dry on hangers. I find this helps a lot and then I just have to do a quick steam. Xx
