Do you know anything about the theory behind WHY each chakra has a certain number of petals? I know it has to do with the idea that each chakra vibrates at frequencies resonant with those numbers, but I find it strange that the third eye only has 2 petals when the ones before and after it have so many more...

I don’t know the answer to that. The third eye symbol definitely breaks any pattern there might be.
