Drawing one kind of spiral with compasses is easy enough, but how do you draw other kinds? Rob shows a simple trick to let you draw an endless variety of spirals, much bigger than you could draw with compasses.

It's even in the choice of words. Why say "Set that aside" when you can say "Chuck it away!"?

+Tim Chuma That is certainly one way, but it again produces only one kind of spiral (there is a segment somewhere showing how to do it). Varying the size of the lid will produce an infinite variety - Rob
