    Right? I'm from Europe and I really don't want to order prismacolor from the US. I had enough issues with costumes randomly holding my orders, sellers not declaring correctly and costumes holding my order, damaged orders etc. I don't drive and costumes is in the middle of nowhere and really, waiting so long for a possibly damaged order you have to send back doesn't sound attractive to me. Plus they don't seem to last you very long. But even people in French videos from France always use prismacolor ordered from America when polychromos are basically made next door and available open stock LOCALLY. The polys seem so underrated and I really want to learn how to make the most of mine yet 90% of the tutorials are prismacolor and with things like skin especially, I NEED to be told what colours I can use especially for undertones.

    This is excellent!! Thank you! I have been using Prismas for years and finally graduated to Polychromos - what a great change. Regarding the gray under-layer of gray, I tend to work with toned gray paper; would you say that the gray under-layer is still a good choice?

  • @BonnitaDoodles

    @BonnitaDoodles

    3 жыл бұрын

    Yes I would have a play and see if it works. The grey abd tab papers just tend to help speed up the process as it acts as the middle tones so you only worry about shadows and highlights but with cp you may still need to try and base colour with greys

    Not certain what I did wrong but when I used the second flesh tone to get medium it turned out SUPER red. I went over it with Prisma Peach Beige to tone it down and make it look like skin but wow. Is it supposed to be so red? The more layers I put down the worse it got. Love all the skin tone recipes you provide but I am wondering if I did something wrong on that one.

    @@BonnitaDoodles Thank you very much for your answer ! I also prefer to work on smooth paper! However, you say you have to put on light layers, one after the other, which I do, but I just can't seem to get the intensity attentive ... and I feel like the Bristol paper saturates .. should you at some point press a little harder on the pencil? On your video, I find that it is very quickly intense and the colors blend perfectly with each other. Maybe it's because you're a professional and I'm just a beginner! I will train intensely!

    For the entire list of colours I use you need the 120 set or 72 from what I can tell a few of the colours are not available in the smaller sets but you can buy them open stock

    depending on what you want to draw most in the long run it might be best to buy the single stock and build up your collection. I have the entire set but I only really use the same ones over and over.

    I am not sure what colours you get in the smaller sets compared to what I used here. I might have to do some digging and do a video for that. 60 is a good range of colours and probably contains a few of these colours

    Bonnita Doodles Hmm , i got them 2 weeks ago . Before , i was drawing with graphite pencils only , so after every layer i would blend with a soft tissue , tortillion etc . So that is my problem , im not used to put so so many layers . And also i have the 24 version of polychromos pencils and it s very limited for skin tones. ( sorry if i did not explain very well , im not native ) . I just discovered your channel and im going to explore your videos :)

    ah yes I see. You already know how to amend that so that's good. I only ever use pencils to blend as Stubbs and tissues can burnish the wax making it harder to layer x

    NEW-gət :D Great video. Do you have any tutorials in mind for someone who is just starting out with coloured pencils--that aren't Prismacolors--who needs to understand blending vs layering, undertones/highlights/shadows, etc? I had a full set of Polychromos land in my lap, and I want to do them justice, but I am very much a beginner with coloured pencils, and the techniques in this video (which I would love to learn) still seem half like magic. Any hand-holding tutorials you can suggest to get started? Thanks! Liked and subscribed
