"any kind of character" shows four drawings that all are the same kind of character

ik in the video he draws different body types but the intro is just dumb 🤣
Here are some anatomy things i learned The upperarm(not including the shoulder stuff) and forearm should be roughly the same length the head should generally be able to fit in the torso the shoulders should roughly be able to fit two heads the foot has the same length as the forearm take these with a grain of salt since these are not really perfectly accurate and of course there are different body types that disobey these but I generally use them when I draw please feel free to correct me if I made a mistake here, I am still learning, afterall edit: Someone reminded me(thank you), foreshortening exists, basically, it's perspective when something looks bigger the closer it is to the viewer, this also makes some of the parts invisible or shorter, so take those in mind too. Remember that these are just general proportion guides, so if you want to use foreshortening, you can simply try to imagine the body parts I talk about as a 3d object and rotate them in your mind, not easy I know, but you can do it. Don't be afraid to use references, it's not cheating. You can also trace other's artwork, that's totally fine as long as you don't post it as your own. Let's all learn together and have fun in our journey and help each other when we need it.

This is great actually. The thing is though, when forshorthening enters, this might greatly change. Some might not be the same length as before depending on how forshorthened it is. I usually liked the cranium as a basis of measurement. But yours also very useful.

I thought you were capping about the foot being the same length as the forearm but nah you really right 💀. That’s so weird to think about.

dynamic poses will require to make things 3d. Also this wasn't his Actual method (though it is very good and u can use it religiously), he said in the full video that he uses this method to draw background characters.

I can't believe he can draw this good with one hand 💀🔥🔥
Dude I was literally looking for this to go back to the basics these videos never miss thank you so much
As an absolute beginner who came back to drawing after 5 years of nothing (and i'm 20 so even then my art was pretty cringe lol) this is a lifesaver. This is what i'm struggling the most right next to perspective. I'm always afraid that it's too late to start again but let me tell you- its never too late to learn
Problem is that a static pose is not always appealing. So, if one were to create a scene with a character they would need to understand basic anatomy, perspective, foreshortening rules and how to draw a 3D shape. Your videos are always helpful. Thank you!

This feels more for figuring out the design of your character rather than a dynamics pose
Thanks, Marc. These short refreshers are the best! 👍
Could you do another video making the mannequin into a character? I usually findbit hard to define some portions in th body such as the inbetween legs, waist, feet. Would be really helpful!

Try using a reference, if you're drawing digitally you can draw as best you can, then bring the reference into the document and adjust by overlapping the lines and reference (trace if needed to get a feel for how it works).

"Two big BALLS for the legs"💀💀💀💀💀
And there's me, who starts by the torso 😂
The problem with the 7-8 heads measurement is, it only applies in a very stiff pose and angle. If you want to draw anything that's at least mildly interesting, any even the tiniest deviation from standing still and being looked at from straight ahead, throws out all of those heads out the window. Why bother with it at all?
@Idk20061

as a beginer , it might be more dificult to get the proportions right , so to begin with this and build visual memory of how aproximatively big the head is compared to the rest of the body might help thought once you get the hang of it , it should be droped since it takes lot of time this rule can be aplied even in difrent poses and perspective but also need to think of puting those line also into perspective so more to husle
Bro had to flex his ability to draw hands
I like to work in this order. Chest -> wast -> limbs -> hands & feet -> neck -> head -> face -> deatail. I do this becose I find it easier to base the head on the body then the body on the head.
I scribble and erase until I like it 🤡✨

either I'm getting slightly better at anatomy art or youre really good at explaining. either way, this made making fan art so much more similar, definitely saved to my helpful art tutorial playlist

Now is the time for a male one....
I usually start with the torso first because then I can choose what I wanna work on next
That one bro who’s 0.5 heads tall:
I learned this in fashion school although it was more professionally instructed and I still kinda messed it up
I like the characters you showed in the beginning 😏
I do this exact thing too! It works really well!
Finally! Simple anatomy that I can totally draw 😅
This really helped me, thank you very much
"To draw any kind of character" *proceeds to only put female characters*
"some bigger balls" bro😂😂
By the way you can use the same head measurement for human realism! Most bodies are around 5 and a half to 6 heads :) you can always measure them with your thumb by spreading your arm in front of you and keeping it straight as you measure!
"big balls" oh hell nah 💀
Thanks for the tip
I guess all my male characters gonna be CURVACEOUS!!
You created a very informative video, I needed this thx
The day I feel peace will be the day I can draw hands as nicely as you

woah, this really helped me! its still bad compared to other artists but it improved me a lil.
i wish i could draw that well
Perfect for beginners like me
One way i find it easier is just measurment of upper legs and legs If it equal it okay if not it not okay

You're a legend ❤ always got the best breakdowns for any tutorial for characters on youtube PERIOD. Following your Art School at the moment, enjoying it very much!
making spheres and connecting lines isnt all. The shape of lines makes large different because that defines the curves of your character

"Lol big balls" Relateable 🗿
Bro draw that hand quicker than i can last in bed(it's so long)
Have you possibly done a tutorial/video about how skin reacts with gravity? I want to make chubbier and muscular characters but the skin and fat tend to be stiff and really static even in dynamic poses. So I was wondering if you had any tips or maybe a tutorial I could look at for reference!! Thanks!
7 to 8 head this, 2/3 heads that, 2 little balls on the sided of 4 and a 1/2 heads down, then big balls two more heads down, draw lines around circles then guess and imitate the shape for the legs and then etcetera, NEXT.
could you do one for drawing guys?
I need to know, early artist here, my stage is I’m able to draw hands somewhat well, depending on the position. I’m wondering how and if I should use sketching stuff like this if I want to become really good at art.

Well, it's usually easier to get the large scale details with sketches, and refine the smaller ones on top. It depends on motivation and inspiration.
