Thank you for doing this video! I've been following your channel for a little while now (you got me to try marker after a lifetime of only using graphite or charcoal) But I've taken a slight break from drawing trees and flowers, and instead I've been doing some urban sketching. So this is very well timed for me.

agree here ! I also love urban sketching style & tried to draw in it in the past but couldn't find decent step by step slow tutorial - like the one you would have in art school in real life =)) For example, I tried to repeat after this artist (www.youtube.com/@lena.leshko/featured) BUT - her videos are very fast speed drawings without any comments =(( so I was just mindlessly repeating and didn't really learn much =((( That's why I was so happy to see a tutorial on this topic from our amazing Aimian Thank you! < 3

Exactly, trying to recreate a drawing by someone who is very experienced at 10x the speed is futile. Thats what I love about this channel, I learn something new every video.

Curious about your feelings about starting in pencil then lining. I am guessing (but could be wrong) that it is a matter of confidence in your initial lines and not feeling the need to redo the whole drawing in ink. I tend to go pencil first while I am learning and then ink and erase.

Hi~~ thank you for sharing your experience! In my most videos I actually do pencil outline first. I like both methods. It’s different experience and feelings. Using pencils give me more control over details. Using pens directly helps me practice letting go of imperfections ✨✨
