    @@AimianArt no it is not too slow at all. In fact when I practice along, I normal adjust the speed to be even slower. You are one of the rare channels on youtube that offers clips that are followable, other channels are just too fast and for entertainment purpose more than real learning I guess.

    Loved the video! It inspired me to go back and watch some of your older cloud tutorials and other videos I missed. 😉 Some questions: 1) Do you have a preference between chisel and brush tip? 2) Have you tried TouchNEW alcohol markers, and if so what are your thoughts on them compared to other brands?TouchNEW is the only brand I'm familiar with. Now, I'm getting a new set and I've settled on Ohuhu's 320 marker dual chisel/brush set. I've only used chisel/fine(bullet) tips so far, but everyone says brush is easier to blend. You make both look so easy and professional so I'd love any tips or thoughts.

  • @AimianArt

    @AimianArt

    Hi~~ so good to hear from you. 1) I have not used touchNEW before unfortunately. Honestly for lots of marker brands, there isn’t a huge difference between the performance. But sometimes there is subtle differences that you have to try to notice haha. 2) I personally prefer chisel tip because I like the stroke shape it can create. But if you have budget, getting chisel/brush tip is a good option. It gives you more flexibility to create different styles of art. Brush tip is easier to blend. I do have many chisel/bullet tip marker, but I never use the bullet tip. Chisel tip have a bigger learning curve lol. I think lost of people use brush tip to do portraits or illustrations which require very smooth blending. But I also see some artists use chisel tip to draw portraits. Me personally I wanna explore more on chisel tip. Next video I wanna use chisel tip to draw portrait practice so I can have better idea how to recommend marker to others. Also when I choose markers, I focus on getting colors I want. I think Ohuhu has some great color selections.

    @@AimianArt Thanks for the thorough and informative explanation! My TouchNEW set had about 168 colors (very generous and also their largest selection). So I was pretty excited to learn Ohuhu put out a whopping 320 and a variety of nibs. I can't wait to start experimenting with the new colors and brush tips. Looking forward to your next tutorial! ❤🖌🎨

    @@AimianArt I'm already read and replying that one. Yeah, probably glitch in youtube as my other comment on other channel are also gone. Just an idea, maybe you could explore underwater scenery next. With the kind of this style it is pretty hard to find tutorial for underware, especially lighting that penetrate the surface and reflected by sand, fish, aquatic plant. I'm pretty sure it would be beautiful.

But yes I really want to explore using different lighting in my drawing. Creating beautiful lighting is the key 😎

  • @AimianArt

    Hi~~ Good question!! Yes water based markers will work great too. The water based marker dries much slower than the alcohol based markers, so blending process can be different. Too much water based ink on paper in a short time, it might warp the paper. You will need to explore and experiment a bit on how the water based markers blends. But overall it should work perfectly for these 2 drawings since I didn’t layer too much ink for this style 😎.

    Once again. I went to the Amazon site. I bought the and 48 ohuhu none of the greys there's 4 and none are even light enough to use in rocks for initial shading. And 2 look almost black. And none of the numbers match to any of the markers u use. NONE even start with a Letter! I would think whatever "blue" I used to make clouds would have a universal ohuhu # for a given shade!... extremely disappointed. I understand I'm terrible but it would be nice to have a "grey" that wasn't almost black. And the letter/number on markers were universal 😢

    I use different markers from different brands. I did list the color number and brands in the description of each video (For those who want to buy the same color or to compare their colors). The 72 set is a general recommendation for beginners to start and I use many colors very often. It will not have exact same number with mine because I use different brands of markers in one drawing. But it will have similar colors people can use to achieve similar result. I hope it helps to clarify your questions.
