How to Draw Black Hair in Colored Pencil

This video is a tutorial on how to draw black hair using colored pencils. This demonstration is from a recent hair study I did using a short black hair reference photo. This is the first video in my "How to Draw Hair" series. I hope that you find this video helpful if you are looking to improve your colored pencil drawing skills. Faber-Castell Polychromos- Black, Cold Grey VI, Cold Grey IV, Payne's Grey, Warm Grey I, Burnt Sienna, Dark Sepia, Burnt Umber, Raw Umber
Caran D'ache Luminance- Black
Strathmore Bristol Smooth (300 Series)

So glad you found this video helpful! I plan to do some more hair tutorials in the near future, for different colors and styles. I can absolutely do a skin tutorial! It was on my list of things to get to eventually. I'm not 100% sure on the timing of all of these new videos but I'd say most likely in the next few weeks I can get to them. For the most part I buy my pencils from Blick ( www.dickblick.com ) but sometimes I also get them on Amazon.
me who lost my black colored pencil and trying to find a way to make black color with other dark color:👁️👄👁️

yes!! I always use other colors when drawing something that is "black", it adds so much more dimension!
I don’t have the gray colors. What can I use as alternative to gray?

I would suggest mixing light blues and white for the highlights, and then a darker blue and black for the darker areas. It won't be exactly the same as with the gray, but you should be able to get relatively close this way.
