The problem is that that's wayyyy too many. I had a phase where I went through 100s of Sylenth presets to make an "ultimate" bank. In the end, I didn't even end up using that bank 😂. Maybe I should go back and check it out, but I feel like it's better to find a VST that specializes in sounds you like and then use that one. That's what I do now, anyways. I think having too many options actually hurts your creative process. Sometimes, I feel like with my best beats, I did more with less- if that makes sense.

@@NaM1k._ hmmmm I'm a little hesitant to give out my secrets 😈. But, here's something I'll tell you: I like working with raw sounds. This is something I learned from watching Finneas, actually. So it's like, the first step is finding effects you really like. Best reverbs, chorus, distortion, all that. Valhalla has some really good stuff for this. Then, you learn how to use these tools and you can make some presets. Step 3 is to find some VSTs that make raw, simple sounds. Purity is a good one for this. My most recommended thing would probably be the sampler Kontakt- because people who make Kontakt packs specialize in capturing certain instruments. I also like to experiment with this plugin Sforzando that allows you to rip sounds from old video games. Then, you combine the 2. Mastery of the good effects will allow you to morph the raw sound into something completely different- something way more detailed. And through this morphing process, you end up with EXACTLY what you want. Not some instrument someone else made that THEY thought was cool, this is more like exactly what you wanted. For a lot of my beats, I modify a raw sound, layer it with something from Omnisphere, and then 90% of the idea is already done. I've tried lots of VSTs in the past, but what I realized after some time is that a lot of these VSTs are designed to make EDM- and EDM is simply NOT the kind of music I want to make.

did you find a solution? this guy is just skipping it he aint showing anything, also i realized that importing a SYSEX file wont even do the job cuz i think you can only import one a time. Im searching for another solution to this like finding the directory but every file in there is .fst

Thanks. Could you actually show the presets in folders as you skim over the installation. Reason im asking is i tried to instal using the method in your FL Expansion series , using sytrus just like one in this video and i could only load one at a time , and couldnt save/add to presets database. What am i doing wrong? PS Thank you , love your vids. Ill try using Arturia , or perhaps dexed to see if i can make n use folders/banks, rather than 1 at a time .

I totally agree but I think presets are good for when you're just trying to come up with ideas. What I normally do is find presets that sound like the idea I want to create and then focus on the structure of the track. Once that is done I go through each sound and design it myself. Definitely agree though, sound design is so important to learn and Serum is (imo) the best way to do that
