I fail to see how melodyne used for natural sounding manual pitch correction is gimmick compared to auto tune

Simple. Those who don't really get 'fully manual pitch correction'. Antares, Waves, BX and tons of other devs make manual pc vsts too but nothing comes close to Melodyne's versatility and workflow.

@@arkarmoethouk2445 Versatility? Sure. Melodyne is the only pitch editor that has polyphonic editing. Definitely a win. Workflow? Not so much. • FL Studio's NewTone is very intuitive without needing a messy side panel to access all of its features, has an artifact-free algorithm and even includes vibrato control. • Synchroarts' RePitch has the Shaper, Draw and Smooth Join tools. It doesn't get any more intuitive than that. • Melodyne still doesn't have a dark mode. wtf.

Cradle Audio's God Particle at the bottom is WILD! Put it on the master bus, no tweaking necessary, and it goes crazy! Absolute client pleaser! Also Melodyne at the bottom is wild too. But to each their own I guess.

UAD would be at the very top of my list, so for them to land at the gimmick/snake oil section is instantly disqualifying. 1. Calling something snake oil, implies they don't actually do what they say in the tin, which UAD definitely does. 2. Gimmicks just mean that something is trying to present itself as novel, unique, quirky or interesting but that isn't necessarily a bad thing but is not what UAD falls under either. They make the most accurate recreations I have heard of analog hardware that has been established and industry standard for years now. The irony of this is that most of the plugins in your S tier are actually more gimmicky than the boring analog recreations UAD does. RC-20 isnt trying to recreate anything, they just put a bunch of effects into a plugin which is super gimmicky but the fact that it is so good at what it does makes it transcend from just another fx rack.

I put it in S tier, did you not see? I said FOR ME its a gimmick, has no value to actually make my track sound better over what i already use. If there was a huge difference then sure but from my tests & comparisons over the 3 months.. Im good on UAD for now

From a subscription standpoint brobeatz has a valid argument, but I got the entire signature bundle for under $240 which comes with everything native UAD has. 44 plugins. At that price point the value and quality you're getting is not even questionable. I wouldn't have gotten it if it was subscription only. At the price point I got it at, the bundle is beyond S tier. Their plugins come as close to the studio gear they are recreating, which has been proven by several producers who analyze them vs other top tier plugin makers. What brobeatz is saying makes sense for him though. If you already own several high end plugins from various makers. It's hardly worth subscribing to a continuous payment system just to get something that might sound slightly better. They don't belong anywhere near snake oil though. You could make that same argument about any of the other payed subscription based plugin bundles from any of the major makers. They all do basic reverbs, limiters and compressors, EQs.

The fact that you have Melodyne in the gimmicks category blows my mind. And then you also compare it to an EQ/Compressor/Every other plugin is crazy lol “Come on dawg”, “come on dawg” in my *Boosie” voice 😂🤦🏾‍♂️

BroBeatz, I like that you keep it real about the plugins cause so many KZreadrs got the influencer clause where the dollar might compromise the integrity of the review. Do you have cook ups featuring plugins like the Nembrini collection? I'm searching for the companies I'm unfamiliar and noticed most of the Nembrini stuff on youtube is processing an electric guitar. I wanna know how it would sound on Analog Lab/Omni/ElectraX etc. Thanks

He probably has Melodyne Essential, which indeed is next to useless. Melodyne is great, but only the full, expensive version.

Great to see softtube and tb pro make the list. Stock FX should be at the top tho. Saving preset chains op but you have to put in the work or have presets 😂

the fact wave is S tier and UAD is in the last tier is crazy there's a big difference in UAD when it comes to waves and waves cant even touch UAD by far i'm not even talking analog but everyone has bias opinions i own UAD plugins not UAD spark so maybe but i have waves diamonds and abbey road chambers. Guitar Rig from native instrument is super worth it that monster plugin can do so much its beating decapitator at analog saturation. n others on that list

the only downside to UAD plugins is you need an universal audio interface to use them i don't think they work outside of universal audio interface and depending on which one you have your limited like i have an apollo twin x i can only use up to 4 to 5 UAD plugins per project

@@traptari UAD has 44 native plugins now that work without any need for hardware . Most of their best stuff has gone native, they still do hardware based though for some of their stuff.

Auto-Tune on top and Melodyne at bottom is crazy 😭

Nahh that Arturia FX take and you always using Hardware as an excuse for it not being A/S tier is just stupid 😂 99% of people can barely tell a difference and it's way more viable for 99% of people to have an FX bundle rather than spending thousands on analog. This tier list is already seeming a little ridiculous simply after seeing that, it's the most used FX bundle by far and also has the highest quality FX out of any vst company, everyone who makes good melodies uses it and for the price you pay and the amount of stuff you get, I really don't get how you can put that in C tier 💀 Like cmon bruh we're in 2023 not in 1998 where everyone is relying on analog gear 😂
