yes, you are telling the truth. im owner of iphone xr, after update from 15.1 to 16.6 i have literally 40 fps in games which i play. when i notice that i cant restore or downgrade iphone to older version im so disappointed. one update destroy all impact of my phone 😭

For anyone trying to restore to 15.6 who get told by itunes that you can't restore the backup because it's for a newer version even after changing '16.X' to '15.0' in the text file, try unplugging your phone and plugging it back into the computer, that fixed the problem for me. And thank you so much for this fix. The screen reader on 16.2 doesn't work properly, it keeps pausing and skipping over text every 10-15 seconds and I'm so grateful I can go back to a working version considering, you know, some people need that to READ. I'm beyond frustrated that this is even an issue though. This kind of inaccessibility shouldn't be a problem in products made by such big companies :/

cheers mate, had this stupid ghost touch as soon as i installed the update, at first i downloaded the update and my phone started ghost touching, then after i installed it it went worse, so ill be deleting it until i get a new i phone later this year, this ghost touch is such a pain!

Do you have any reports yet, if THIS procedure is superior to the previous a few days ago? It was a great tutorial (so much thx for your effort) but after being back to 16.1.2 and restored backup, my health app was broken, no data, no changes possible in preferences, all write protected. Also it wasn‘t possible to reconnect my Apple watch, even after resetting and re-pairing there was no way to get a connection, so I had to restore to 16.2 and again restore my backup as well as resetting and pairing the watch again

Thank you for the clear tutorial. Followed every step and it works perfectly. I have Iphone 12 Pro and downgrade was successful from ios 16.2 to 15.6, battery is healthy and phone doesnt get hot anymore. Is weird that photos were saved even why I didnt put them on cloud, also apps were saved too as icons, had to redownload only. Thought it did a total reset at everything. Glad it didnt. Good job dude!

Cool. Good to hear that works for you, I actually downgraded my 2020 iPhone SE from iOS 16.3 back to this. I don’t really like the screen reader voice differences with iOS 16, plus my seventh generation iPod touch isn’t compatible with iOS 16 even though it’s the newest one.

In description its written that this tutorial doesn't work anymore. With new version of itunes you can not select the downloaded downgrade file. I tried it because didn't noticed the notification.
