This is awesome. I replaced the Alpine navi DVD in my 2007 TL Type S (I purchased a newer condition one from eBay but without the navi disc), and sure enough received the same "older version" message. I followed your instructions and bingo, the player now reads my older disc!!! Thank you!!!

I had the same situation buying Acura MDX 08 from auction, previous owner took updated version left older version disk in car. Worked great, thank you for posting.

My Acura has the same problem but mine say dvd disc reading error please consult your dealer so my problem is different or it was same as yours?

THANK YOU SO MUCH for these directions. Worked perfectly on my 2007 CR-V. I had to replace the navi unit because it scratched the disc. I got a new old disc from eBay and it was older than the software on the unit. Back in business now with no disc read error.

Just an FYI for those looking to buy a Nav DVD off ebay. The date printed on the lower left part of the DVD is basically the Map date. Also, I was reading rumors of DVD being tied to the specific VIN, but I just bought a used 2019 white DVD off ebay for my 2010 Honda Accord and it worked just fine.

The newer Honda vehicles use a different navigation system and they use a usb to download updates and from my understanding is the vin is tied to that usb.

@@finley614 The hard disc units are all disc based to update and they do require the VIN for a special code and the NAVI ID.

Hi! I have a problem where it displays the yellow text at the end, but there is no "OK" button to continue to the navigation. What could be the problem? What can I do? Should i wait if the "OK" button loads?

Did not work for Acura TL. "Please check your disc" is displayed.

This is exactly the issue I am having too. It sometimes says downloading but sometimes says check disc. I miss my back up camera.
