*One thing I didn’t note is how to take care of delicates such as wool, silk, and leather which aren’t Starboost safe! In a pt. 2, I’ll go over hand washing, finishing, and other laundry things I didn’t go over in this video. Other than that, hope you enjoy the video 😇🤍

Don't forget, you should never close your washer's door immediately after using it because it will grow mold. You should leave it open until it has had time to dry, and the same goes for the slider you put the detergent in. Let both dry over night.

I'm a peer mentor for freshmen at my university, I'll definitely share this video with them! I remember during my freshman year, so many of us were lost because not everyone's families taught them how. Since you do have to pay for every load(washing and drying separately) at my university, I often just put darks and lights together(unless it was heavily soiled).

4:23 hydrogen peroxide can remove most food and other organic stains as well, not just blood. I eat on my bed since I live in a small dorm with no table to eat at and have had strawberry, soy sauce, and chocolate stains on a white cotton blanket and just pouring on some hydrogen peroxide removed the stains after sitting for 5 or so minutes.

Something that can be helpful for eating on your bed - get a tray with the legs that fold under! I've found them at thrift stores or Ross - great for holding study supplies, crafts as well! And when you're done - a quick wipe and fold the legs! Then tuck on a narrow space (I'm at my daughter's while my Granny Flat is being constructed - and so glad I brought one along! A TV tray's anothoption. Easy to stow away optiin.

Actually ice cubes work with blood and of course chewing gum… one thing I didn’t notice is the use of an iron- especially in the summer ( seems counterproductive with the summer heat )when most clothing is lighter with cotton and linen etc. I find I need to iron these especially a tailored white shirt and also pants especially if they have a crease or cuffs it makes a huge difference plus dryers don’t prevent 100% of wrinkles!

Here are a few things that may or may not work for you: -for folding, I like to military roll all my shirts and sort by white, black, and all other colours into bins with dividers. It may stretch things out tho so ymmv -my mom mentioned also sorting by texture to prevent smooth things from pilling from fluffy things, so this can help if you need to make your loads smaller for your washing machine size -I do my laundry cycles whilst I also do the rest of my chores, so I put the first load in then do a lil surface clean, a vacuum, and take out the garbage -if you struggle a bit, done > perfect. It's okay to baby step it!

A little tip for those who don’t have the self folding laundry board - if you look at the colar of t-shirts, folding to the edge of each side will make it more uniform - in other words use the colar of shirts as your guide because they’re usually the same width if they’re the same style/size This is such a useful video! There are several adults in my house, so laundry is almost an everyday thing! We usually handle our own laundry, but there was a time when I did a lot of the hanging up (no tumble dryer) and folding, and I actually grew to enjoy it. 😆 I love that I can just listen to music or a podcast while doing it! Your video has some great tips, like separating darks and lights.I did this a couple of years ago by having two different coloured hampers instead of just one. Really helped!

I also use mesh bags to keep from losing my socks! also for socks, I actually don't even fold most of my socks. all of my identical socks just get flattened and laid on top of each other, so I can just grab the top two out of a stack and go. Patterned ones do get folded together, but the majority of my socks are holdovers from a job with a dress code requiring black socks, so I kept the same ones and made it easy for me!

Girl, your laundry routine is so extra. LOL 😂 I don’t separate my towels and bedsheets from my clothes. I only separate all fabric items by color and they still come out sanitized and clean. Saving water is important, so running less loads is good. I don’t even separate my baby’s clothes from the adult clothes and they come out clean, stain-free and no baby skin irritation. For washing ALL t-shirts,especially graphic shirts or any clothes with embroidery/prints, I ALWAYS turn every shirt inside out to maintain its integrity. P.S. Clean your lint traps people! Unless you want to start a 🔥.

Why would anyone separate baby clothes from adult clothes? I always washed them together, but I don’t use scented detergents, so it was fine. If you’re using heavy scents, then I guess that would make sense. Best to just use a good baby detergent on everything, so you don’t have to worry about baby getting a reaction from being in their clothes/bedding/towels or against your clothes/bedding/towels.

laundry us something I still have to call my mom with questions for. I remember always asking my mom to teach me growing up but it was just cheaper to do everyone's laundry in shared batches so I never did do my own laundry until college. Most of my clothes are black so i didn't need to sort my colors, and I usually need clothes to shrink so i'm fine with hot water, but it also costs more and i've been told it makes clothes not last as long. Now almost 30 I'm finally gonna be on my own, no family members or roommates to share loads with, so I finally have full control of my laundry. but I also put off doing chores a lot. not that I hate doing it, idk if it's depression or maybe everyone was right that I have ADHD and it's ADHD Paralysis, or what. but I always find myself doing my laundry once EVERYTHING is dirty with a full basket(and floor.) so this video is just what I need

as im one person, i tend to do my laundry in a particular order. Casuals, Jeans, towels & sheets, and delicates. I'm basically going from hardest to fold to easiest (i dont dry my delicates, i hang them up lol)

I do my laundry on Sunday. I do one load and sometimes I do two loads a week. As soon as I wake up, clothes go in the washer. Before putting clothes in my hamper, I always sort, turn inside out etx so that i dont waste time to put clothes in the washer. I simultaneously start my day, do other things around the house ( there is always something to do 😅) and then when everything is done, immediately fold and put it away. I prefer silence to fold my clothes and put them away. I love doing the laundry and washing dishes by hand they are the most mind numbing activities to do where my brain can rest from the mile a minute thoughts.

Wait, 1 hour for an average wash cycle ? I only have 2 or 4 hours, and I need to wash my sheets and my husband clothes 4 hours (or else it does not wash properly because of his sweat) 😕 so jealous! I try to reduce the amount of cycles so I mix together most of the items by temperature needs, so I do not have empty machines, to reduce time and water usage. I wash together sheets+towels+any item that washes at 60°C and clothes at 30 or 40°C, I separate only the dark clothes that could potentially stain lighter fabric. If there is super dirty items I was them separately or rince by hand first. Dish detergent works very well on any oil or bike grease stains I agree ! Thanks for the tips, that is nice to see other ways !

For blood stains I always soak in COLD water first. If the stain isn’t too old, it will go out without any problem! And of course machinewash after
