This is so yummy for my joints! I'm doing 'baby' contortion at 52 and am grateful for your ballet stretches to go along with my other practice. Thank you!!

@@TrainLikeaBallerina I'm grateful to have you in my practice! Slow and steady for changes in flexibility, which doesn't jive with my usual "if I can't do it in 2 months, I'm done." 😉

Always love your content. Is there any splits or hip streching stuff with longer holds? It's really nice following along to these but im not fit enough to get past 10 mins plus i sink into stretches better with longer holds.

Great question! My method is science backed and involves end range of motion training which combines strength, mobility and flexibility and is actually proven to increase flexibility quicker than static stretching alone. There are hundreds of classes on the TLB app trainlikeaballerina.com if you're interested in giving them a go I'd love to hear you're feedback :D Highly recommend the 6 week Middle Splits or Side Splits program 🧡

I wanted to ask you something. So, I officially started ballet about 3 months ago in a studio, and I do lessons 2 hours a week. In the first lessons I didn't notice any type of pain. But, because I'm 15 and I really want to do something about ballet in the future.. and of course get on pointe.. I always think that I need to improve fast and build strength, I decided to do ballet at home too with the help of KZread videos. So, after a week I noticed pain in my left knee. I think I overworked it. I'm literally not doing anything extreme on my own, instead of not warming up before the barre because in ballet studio we don't warm up too and start with plies instantly.. I always warmup at least 10 minute before streching at home. I went to the doctor and he just said that for 10 days I must not do any type of exercise. I didn't, I returned and after I decided that my knee pain is over and I can keep up with my home program.. I just did a ballet workout yesterday and knee pain started again. Not that much as the other time, but I feel that it started again. At home I am doing things on my level. Not too much. I follow an Absolute Beginner Ballet Series, streching routine and I try to practice in everything center movement we do at ballet studio.. for example changement, pique turns, pirouettes on deurs & dedans, glissade etc. I think that if I stop working by my own my knee pain will be over. But I really want to be the best version of me in ballet, and 2 hours of training in a week is nothing.. I will never succeed in anything with 2hrs a week. Maybe 15 min warm up isn't enough? I can do 30 min warm up if that's okay. And I don't feel like I'm doing anything wrong..

Exciting to hear you're starting your ballet journey! I'd highly recommend seeing a healthy professional to have your knees assessed as I'm unable to give you advice without seeing you myself. Remember pain is your body telling you there is something not right so try not to push through the pain but find the source of it. KZread videos alone are not enough for progressively building up your strength and flexibility. I'd recommend one of the programs on the TRAIN LIKE A BALLERINA APP. Either Lean & Strong (3month program) or Total Body Reset (8 weeks) trainlikeaballerina.com Let me know if you have any further questions xx

Hi ballerina here! Congratulations on starting your journey!! I think the pain might be not from overworking yourself but from bad technique since ballet is an extremely technical sport it’s normal that bad technique on a certain move may cause you pain, since you said you already went to the doctor the advice I can give you is : try going to more classes a week if you can and at home focus os warmups and stretches because those are harder to get wrong and injure yourself, on classes focus on your technique and try to take mental notes of all the corrections your teacher gives you. If you really have your heart set on doing ballet at home prefer slower classes with more focus on technique and perfecting your moves( sometimes doing the same move a few times in front of mirror) hope this helped ❤
