Also this is a REALLY dangerous submission since gravity is on your side. Your hip can't ever touch the ground or you will have broken your training partners knee. Take extreme care in practicing and using this kneebar! But use it, because it's fun and very effective! =)

I respectfully disagree - it's no more dangerous than any other form of kneebar. If you slam it on quickly then of course you can injure the leg, but that's true of any submission, arm or leg. And it's way less dangerous than the twisting leg locks like the toehold, heel hook, and reverse heel hook.
I love this! I was submitted by this in '97 and I just loooov it!
Thank you for this Stephan

Sometimes I get this kneebar with the outside leg following a low double. Feels like the same principles are at work. I try to get partner flat and hook a loose triangle. What do you think would be good for a plan B follow-up?
basically like a lock down footing position

Yes, it's very similar.
I saw this for the first time on TUF. Is this a good move to hit when getting up from the deep half?

It's possible but hard to hit from or against the deep half
This is epic, is there a way to submit someone in their half guard ? OSSSSSSS

You can use this exact technique if you get one arm under his leg and scoot down towards his feet

I wouldn't bet on it! Last time I read the rules it was only straight foot locks below brown belt!!

I went to the IBJJF Rule Book. Knee bars are legal only at brown belt adult and up. However, not all tournaments use IBJJF rules ;)
