How to do Scroll-Sawing and Fretwork. Basics for Beginners. Part Four.
In this series of videos I show some of the basics of Scroll-sawing or Fretwork.
I make an original Hobbies company design published almost 100 years ago and explain the processes involved.
The videos are aimed at those new to Scroll-Sawing.
An excellent place to learn about Scroll saws and fretwork plus general woodwork is here www.ukworkshop.co.uk/ You can post comments and ask questions. You will find me there under the scrimper name.

Thank you so much for your comment David, you are very kind. I am delighted that you found my video via the UK Workshop Forum as we need to keep forums open, sadly the rise of Facebook has killed off a huge number of excellent forums.

I’ve enjoyed all your fretwork/scroll saw videos. I live in U.S.A. but I lived in the U.K. in 1981 and 1982. Your British accent brings back fond memories. Here in the U.S. we don’t have anything like the vintage fretwork patterns like what you’ve shown in this video. Can you suggest an online resource from vintage fretwork patterns?

Thanks for the kind comment Keith. When my website is finished I do hope to have some of the very old fretwork patterns published by Hobbies and Handicrafts for download.

I looked through your videos for any information on your clever vest. Curious what brand and how you came to using it in the shop. Love your wall cabinet too. Very classy looking cabinet. Maybe is or isn’t a woodworking tools cabinet.

I am not in the workshop at the moment but from memory I think the work vest is made by Dickies I bought it from Machine Mart (UK) quite a few years ago. All the cabinets and cupboards in my workshop I made from scrap timber from skips or scrounged offcuts. Thanks for your comment.
