Summary: To achieve more in a shorter time, focus on consistent execution, replace annualization with periodization, create an emotional connection to the outcome, and have a compelling vision for the future. Great work as always, thanks Ali!

I've been implementing 12 Week Year for my 2024. First 12 Week Year has been focused on "Skill Acquisition". Highly suggest focus on week by week milestones. You can easily fall into the same mental trap as "Oh I have the whole year". But in this case its "Oh I have 12 weeks".

Ali, this might be the best video you have produced on your channel. You have a “teachers mind” that can take a concept and talk about it in many different ways, making it completely clear on multiple levels. I have created 5 multi-million dollar businesses over the past 25 years - all based on your takeaways from the 12 Week Year. Being self-aware is the single most effective way to to keep a clear vision of your future & what you spend your time & energy on. Bottom line is I enjoy following your growth and the “cool things” you impart to all of your followers. Keep it up!

I break personal commitments into three month “Seasons”: Spring (FMA), Summer (MJJ), Fall (ASO), Holidays (NDJ). I focus on certain things in each season, which helps me define the goals for that season. For example, “Holidays” includes Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years, so my goals for that month mostly focus on relationships and other areas will get shifted into maintenance mode for a bit. I realized this was happening organically so I just leaned into it and it’s worked well for me.

I really do recommend this to everyone and I'm looking forward to actually reading the book and learning more.

That feeling sticks with me even if I try and progress and change. I just wish I could start over.

14:35 i totally agree with this point, Victor Frankl in his book, Man search for meaning, he said the same, people tend to live life, if they have a good / better vision of the future

I believe the reason why people cannot execute on their goals is because they may not be framing their perspective on time correctly. I did a school research project of productivity and found that urgency, unsuprisingly, was a key factor in dealing with tasks, and that people are much more prone to do things as soon as their time is almost up. So, being the somewhat irrational beings we are, why not take advantage of this irrationality and leverage delusion in our everyday lives. Besides, human brains have been reported to believe memories that are not real and all that nonsense. What I always say to myself is, "Every day's a New Year, and I want to grow up.". Rember now, time is a subjective concept. Every new years Eve begins and ended within the span of 24 hours. With that logic, we waste a year every day. The point is to be delued, as to not conform to the norms of society. Thank you for reading this is you haven't lost your attention span to unfortunate brain rot. :)

For me it is a balalnce, there are months were I just dabble, get through life, no focus, no goals, just enyoing my life. Then there are the opposite months, mostly starting with an idea, sometimes you need to wait for a flower to bloom. Some ideas are in the back of my head for months, years, some I bump in to in my spare time and they pull me directly on the waggon and I am off. But I am never always all the time productive.

The biggest challenge for me to implement the schema was how much time it took to plan it. From there I ve mostly observed myself being more and more stressed about not doing what I’ve planned or being done with my goal real quick. I think you need to try it few times to have it working well for. For me though as long as you do your best everyday and don’t waste your time scrolling, you are progressing quite well :)

The 12 Week Year brilliantly tackles the execution gap that so many of us struggle with. An added tip: Aligning daily actions with these 12-week goals not only maintains momentum but also embeds these critical tasks into everyday habits. 🚀

Hello Ali..Great video!! Love your content! I was wondering about notion backups. Since there are no built-in back options,.I export the whole database manually,as a .csv file, and then back it up to my Google Drive. If I were to automate the backup process, I need to have a basic understanding of Python (which I don't) and there is no official notion API. Could you maybe make a video about it? (I know my question is completely irrelevant to this video's contents🥲)

Ali your content is incredibly helpful and inspiring to me. I enjoyed your book very much, firstly, by listening to it on audible, and secondly, I ordered it to reread and highlight. It will likely be a book I review regularly, just like I do with Atomic Habits. Well done. Your friendly demeanor, and emphasis on enjoyment are delightfully refreshing, too. Thank you.

I don't know if what im doing is similar to the book. Basically i just plan the possible events for the month. Then write down the most important ones break it into chunks and by end of the 2nd week I'm done with all my work. Chilling for more work in the 3rd week 😂

Ali, as you said not to focus on multiple things but I am engineering student i cant really help but set multiple goals and work on them in a parallel manner like focus on the college subjects to maintain a good CGPA and side by side learning programming language also some skills and I find it overwhelming and constantly worry myself out whether I'll be able to learn any programming language ? Will I be able to have skills or not ? Sometimes it feels like I am doing right and sometimes it doesn't ...Can i get any suggestion to this problem?

Hello Ali, I hope you will see my comment, I am an arab and english is not my native language, This is one of the most challenging thing for anyone wants to write a book in english . I hope from you to talk about this problem in one of your videos, that will be very helpful for non-native English speakers. English is the world language and it's an extreme necessary for achieving great success in the field of writing. I hope you can talk about strategies, tools, techniques that can help us throw the journey of writing. Thank you for being a great inspiring person.
