Starting with DU and finishing with singles in a WOD is SOOO key. I avoided DU's in any WOD because I didn't feel like I'd get a good workout in since I'd be fighting the rope the whole time. Now I'm able to get 10-15 DU's pretty clean and then transition to singles if needed. I give myself one chance to get DU's going again once it's broken in a WOD and then do singles to keep it moving. It has helped so much not shying away from them.

I watch these double under tutorials whenever they pop up and this is the first one that reminds us to stay relaxed when jumping, suggests bar tap drills, and uses the whistling rope as a cue for speed. It’s really cool to hear some new ideas!

I am a jump roper on Instagram and I think you could even shorter still, around hip level and this literally means that all the motion is from the flick of your wrists and nothing else - I did a 70,000 DU challenge about a year ago and this saved me and my energy!
