Thank You for the informative video. Just a few clarifications: 1. Should we hold 5-7 sec stationary at each area, both vertically and horizontally? (Dail pad motion) 2. Is holding for 5-7 sec only applicable for E1500 or for every other compound? (E3000, S3 Gold, S2 Black)

Yes holding for 5-7 sec at each area allows DA polisher to perform better with all the compounds, the holding pattern doesn't change with E1500 or S3 Gold or S2 Black. Happy Detailing.

Ideally in both the direction, but if defects are lighter then even in one direction can give good results.

Hello sir. I purchased new Nexon Green colour, I'm planning for ceramic coat. Is compounding required or just polishing is enough. If compounding to done pls suggest good compound and polish for good and deep gloss finish, accordingly which pad to be used for particular process. We have 21mm orbital machine with 6" backup pad.

AS: If car does not have major swirl marks you can skip heavy compounding, Medium cut or fine cut Polish is perfect for brand new cars with just minor swirls, medium foam is recommended with orbital polisher. My suggestion - Scholl Concepts S20 or E2000 with Scholl Orange foam Pad, Happy Detailing.

Matt colors can not be polished, was with APC or degreaser, do not use wax based or gloss shampoo's.

Shinemate rotary polisher is good one, i prefer 802, but if you like heavy one then go for 812.

No need to spray water with all new generation detailing compounds like Scholl concepts S# and E1500 or even Menzerna HCC400 or Meguiars 105. Most of the new gen detailing compounds are water based and dusts very little, so no need to spray water. To keep panel cools use 5" or max 6" foam pads and at low rpm.

One a year, If using a micro abrasive compound with DA polisher with right technique, as such it depends on lots of other factors also, no concrete figure can be ever decided. Happy Detailing.

If good quality micro abrasive compound used by DA polisher with foam pad then around 5 micron, if very strong or coarse compound used with old style wool pad on high rpm rotary polisher then around 20-30 microns, but all depends on technician's skills also.
