Don't know if I'll ever get around to personally changing the 4 plugs in my 2.5L Turbo, 2022 Santa Fe Limited, but after watching this video I now know the procedure very well. As an older guy who cut his car repair teeth going back to v-8 engines and 4 barrel carbs, I knew all of the steps presented. As you were about to thread the plugs, I was looking for the anti-seize step and was so glad you explained why it wasn't needed due to the coating on the new plug's threads. FYI--the service manager at my local Hyundai dealer said it's ok to use 0w20 synthetic oil in place of the 0w30 oil as shown in your video on the filler cap. The service papers after my complimentary oil changes at that dealership show 0w30 synthetic Penzoil . Question: why didn't Hyundai have the filler cap accessible without having to remove that scrawny engine cover? On some of Hyundai's other 4 cylinder engines, the oil filler cap is accessible without needing to remove the cover. Keep up the informative videos.

Can you do a video on transmission fluid change on the Santa Fe?

  • @SpiritedWrenchers

Hello! Thanks for watching and asking! We love creating content that people need and really helps others. Before we perform any DIY maintenance, we always have a conversation with our local dealership service department to confirm that it won't impact the factory or extended before we perform it. The maintenance interval in the owner's manual for our 8DCT has us following a fluid change every 56k miles as we do fall. under the conditions for "severe" usage. We did confirm with our dealer that currently, this service is quoted to us at USD$280+taxes and per the service manager that if we perform the service ourselves at home that it will void the warranty on the transmission. With the recall and active service bulletin on the 8DCT, this is something that we chose to pay the dealer to perform and won't be putting out a video content on until we are well out of factory and extended warranty (which will likely be many years). Hope this helps; take care and stay safe!

Hello, and while I hit the like button on your comment, we certainly do not like that this has happened to you! This is definitely a warranty issue on the part of Hyundai! While we expect every new vehicle to roll off the factory floor in perfect condition, that doesn't always happen. This is why every single make and model of new car, SUV, and truck comes with a factory warranty. Sometimes the part delivered to the factory is bad, and sometimes the factory installation is bad. We hope that your dealership is able to make it right and fast!!! Take care and stay safe!
