HOW TO DO A SCRATCH SPIN || OFF-ICE TRAINING | Coach Michelle Hong
Спорт
Welcome to my brand new off-ice training series called #SkateWithMichelle. The focus of this week is spin technique! Check out my Instagram for the official Skate With Michelle Calendar: / b-iut1opc6e
Today is all about the scratch spin technique. I am going to break down the 4 main steps of the scratch spin off the ice to help you ensure a fast and centered spin when you get back on the ice. The foundation of spins is so important to master before hopping onto a skate spinner. I recommend going through this video before doing spinner exercises. Let me know in the comment section below what your favorite part of today's "Skate With Michelle!" tutorial!
LET'S GET STRONG TO BECOME THE BEST SKATERS WE CAN BE!
Friendly Reminder: Please be careful when following along. If you never attempted certain elements displayed in the video, be sure to consult your figure skating coach before trying it for the first time.
Skating Love,
Coach Michelle

Hi Can you help me fix a problem please? My problem is that I can always see a space between my legs when I do my Scratch spins. Thank you so much.
Hi coach 👋. Thank you for this video!! My forward scratch spin is much more stable 😍. The ‘V’ ti was so helpful.

Again, thank you so much!! Some skaters have complimented on my scratch spins. I've applied your technique in my every attempt. The initial attempts were really unstable, but the more I practiced, the more they've stabilised.
do you think you could do a loop jump tutorial off ice?
You're excelente I really want to Thank you for your videos 🗒🖋💌😀
Would you recommend inline skates to practice off ice?
i find it super hard to centre myself though!!
You are awesome
Easy peasy
Can i practice this with the roller skates??
How do I stop my toepick digging into the ice ?
Hi! Could anyone tell me what level a scratch spin is? I’m wondering what my next sion should be after my one and two foot spin, is this too complex for a beginner?
I did this twice and then I couldn’t do it again so here I am 🥲
Good job 🇧🇪 🇧🇪 🇧🇪
I skates for 14 years and competed for 6 of them with going through all of the basic levels all the way through freestyle 6. I wound up becoming too sick to skate any longer when I was at the height of my training & competition days. I am 27 now and too old to compete any more but my neice and my kids have been getting really into skating so I invested in a new pair of pro boots & blades and have been trying to re-teach myself. My biggest issue has been with my spins. I am having the hardest time finding my rocker and staying on it to spin in-interrupted without catching my toe pick. Do you have any suggestions on things I can do to practice how to stay on my rocker/ tips that could help me? I’d appreciate it!

Agreed. I spin on my spin board daily till I feel dizzy or nauseated( about 5 - 10 minutes. ) I can spin longer today than a year ago.
5 minutes! I am already an expert at skating and I’m still watching this lol!
Coach can you help with the entry itself? =(
Could you put the link to the spinner?
Is there a certain amount of spins that u have to do or do u stop when u feel like u need to
