How to do a Half Lutz Jump in Figure Skates! - Learn To Jump On Ice!

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Hello Skaters! Today I am going to teach you how to do a Half Lutz jump. This jump has the same entry as a whole Lutz and is great practice to prepare yourself for that harder jump. For this jump you will need a strong backward outside edge for the entry, and a strong forward inside edge for the landing, I have listed both of those tutorials below! Have fun jumping!

    I agree your key point of jumping that don't hammering toe pick on the ice. I am from Taiwan. I don't like the coaches in Taipei Arena Rink since I think they do not know how to skate on the ice correctly. Most of their students hammering on the ice and dig a big hole on the ice all over the rink and none of them notice that is the wrong way! Thank you for sharing the correct knowledge of figure skating.

    Hi Coach Julia! Thank you for another great tutorial! I’m learning how to skate as an adult, and while I really enjoy it, I’m struggling with identifying my “end goal.” I still have a few levels of LTS to pass, but I’m not sure where to go from there. Most of the rinks around me are very hockey focused. Do you have any suggestions?

  • @CoachJulia

    @CoachJulia

    It depends on which direction you are rotating, if you are right handed and rotate counter clockwise, you will almost always land on the right leg. If you are left handed and rotate clockwise, you almost always land on the left leg.
