@@Dontforgetthebubbles I need to bandage a deep cut on my fingertip - right at the end. The PA used gauze and stretch wrap. I'd like it to apply a little pressure on the fingertip to help hold it closed. What do you suggest?

The t-shaped dressing tip is great! Common sense really after it’s explained but I wouldn’t have thought of it. Worked a treat!

Here! Was Too damn lazy to go to urgent care for 2 days. Figured it wasn't going to heal by itself because it was dripping blood in the Walmart bandage aisle. Finally went and was told it was too late to have stitches but my laceration is not closing. I think I'm going to go and try and get some. 😁

Brilliant! Had a little trouble with the healing cream squeezing out, I'm a "wounds need to be kept moist" kinda gal, but it still worked beautifully. Don't know why I didn't think of securing the dressing with tape 😂 I guess I prefer getting mad all the time because of the slipping dressing 🤭

Got my fingertip severed from a chain and sprocket, doctors did the second method you displayed, but over the week it bunched up and got caught on the end of the stitches and hurt like hell, so I took it off. Seeing that I don't have tubular gauze, I'll use the first method. Thank you ma'am

Hello it's been a month now and the upper later if skin came off my finger. Middle finger the middle of the finger to the tip. The finger does not get used as much as my other hand because it has atrophy. However it still has decent blood supply. The knuckle started to callus and then it started to come off. Water got under it and I stupidly Ripped it off not realizing how much skin it was. I went to the derm and they gave me an antibiotic ointment and nonstick guaze and said di t wrap it too tight. But it just us t healing. I spray it a few times a day with hydrogen peroxide to get the old guaze off..I ran out of non stick so I have Johnson and Johnsons non Stick 2x3 which is basically thick cotton. And that's not good because it gets stuck on. I really have to soak it to get it off. I thought of zero foam I thought if 2nd skin. But I truly do t know how to get the finger to grow new skin faster and it just keeps bleeding especially where my print would be. I just got a can of CVS liquid bandage spray. I have no idea what this willdo.

What kind of gauze dressing do you use for fingertip dressings? Regular 4x4's are too bulky and fray when cut into the T shape, so I'm wondering what type you use in the video? Thank you! Awesome video - great tips. I'm a hand therapist, and wrapping fingers is always tricky. I'll definitely be implementing your tips! :)

Glad you're finding it useful, Sara. I do usually use the 4x4 gauze but we don't have the very open weave stuff which I guess frays a bit more. You could try a non-adherent dressing such as melolite which wouldn't fray. Starting with a rectangle, rather than a square also works. Personally, I don't mind a bit of extra padding on tiny fingers because otherwise the tubular dressing is too loose. Have a play around and I'd love to hear any new solutions. Good luck!
