When learning how to burnout, the most important thing to do, and I can't stress this enough, use someone else's motorcycle

Thanks man I've followed your instructions carefully and never let go of the front brake no matter and always kept my hand on the clutch and this saved me a few times while learning. what I've learned is that I should release the clutch fast so that the front fork compress and the rear tyre loses traction easily, otherwise the bike may stall or move forward if you release it slowly and this will certainly do some damage to the clutch

Yup, people can do burnouts all they wish...their choice..this is just how to do it, from my experience drag racing.
Thank you for the putting safety for other riders as top priority.
They have things like race legal in Australia, Mighty Car Mods took some of their cars there. It's a lovely idea, keeps people safe and they get to do exactly what they want in a nice environment. I love that story about the melting of the clutch =P Nice one Eddie.

Yo man. I just wanted to say thanks alot to you for your help to make me do my first burnout ever on my old MOT failed rear tyre before I got a new one put on a hour later. Note to anyone the road eats alot of tyre up and I don't recommend doing it with good legal tyres if you want big smoke 😅🙏💚👍
Oh btw Greg I have the same bike 2018 model, what RPM should I be? And what causes the clutch to burn?
@MotoJitsu
5 жыл бұрын
No idea...try it in the dirt/grass first if you ever do.
I think it's worth mentioning that you shouldn't do it on bikes with linked front and rear brakes. For example, on your GS you cannot unlink the brakes, thus the rear brake will always be engaged and you could damage the brake disc rotor. A nice and informative video as always, well done Fast Eddie!
@MotoJitsu
5 жыл бұрын
I know many professional stunt riders who do this on a GS, Chris "Teach" McNeil for example..yes it'll wear the pads out a bit more...but again, only time I really do this is when I'm drag racing...so once a month, doing a few burnouts won't be too bad. I go through rear brake pads way faster than that just because how much I practice :)

Who knows, maybe the pros disconnect the rear brakes :) Otherwise the tip about propping up against a wall is a good one for safe burnouts!
